this is a tight slap on nokia... you guys proved that we don't need nokia's support anymore. you have done better than nokia.
if nokia were bringing pr 1.4. it would only be bug fixes again..lolz.
ftw NOKIA.

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

Looks like this version is stable? :) Guess I should finally add CSSU in. Anything I should be careful off before doing it? (I'm coming from PR1.3).

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

I hope the next update will have failsasfes in place to prevent reboot loops due to missing/curropt transitions.ini.
For me, the update has been working perfectly. No problems with any applications so far. Thanks CSSU Team!

You can't flash EMMC without root flash...
So if you flash emmc you will lose everything, i mean EVERYTHING ;)

If you reflash eMMC you are forced to reflash the firmware as well, so yes.

my phone is practically empty now so yeah don't mind flashing it. just in case i need to revert back to PR1.3/stock/factory state (my friend might want to borrow it, and he wants it empty/stock state). i'm not familiar with CSSU. i imagined that it will still be there despite flashing. so after flashing my eMMC and firmware it'll be removed yeah?

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

I'm starting to experience some random reboots on my phone now. To this point I experienced two.

Were should I look for logs? Up to this point they occurred while recharging. I can't say they are strictly related to CSSU.

Just a note, another update might show up today or by the end of the week, 16.8, this is a minor security update.

See http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...6&postcount=33 for more about that.

can't update, the details says missing package: maemo-optify-runonces
I think this is a typo since the package in the archive is called: maemo-optify-runonce (without the trailing s)

Sorry about that, typo in the control file, must've hit the "S" button by mistake, 16.7 will be the same as 16.6 with a fixed depends line and should be in the repo within 5 minutes

Marble isn't working after installing the current CSSU :(
Maybe the new Qt Version is making trouble here.

Can you guys try to fix the broken voice/video calls on gtalk? At least the voice ones. [1]. That would be a really nice addition to the cssu.

Marble (as reported before)
qutim - starts, logs in, but crashes when I click the menu button
Grap - shows just black screen (this is the biggest bummer because I use it on daily basis and I don't believe the author will be much helpful, since it is a paid app)
CSSU Config - new version crashes with fatal error (also reported before)

Thanks for the latest update.
From the issues reported before, only Grap is still having the same problems; others work fine.

Currently installed 16.7, no problem here...
Thanks CSSU team !

A little question.. The transitions.ini.default file not updated in this version ?

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

Version 16.8 is out, this is just a security update that fixes http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=76178

This update is basically from Nokia, read (and thank) http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...6&postcount=33 for more about that.

Sorry about the ridiculous rate of updates, it'll go back to how it was on version 17 again :)

A little question.. The transitions.ini.default file not updated in this version ?

transitions.ini is now a conffile, meaning dpkg will ask you what to do with the file when you install the package, afaik HAM defaults to keeping the version you have installed.

apt-get --reinstall install hildon-desktop may prompt you to replace the file with a newer version.

Thanks.. I understand this, but when I installed the update 16 or 16.5 (don't remember) by HAM, I got the new file of transitions.ini.default (I saw the date of this file) in /usr/share/hildon-desktop/... And now after installing 16.7 by HAM, I checked this path (/usr/share/hildon-desktop) and I saw the same date of this file transitions.ini.default (08.09.11), that I mean this file not updated with latest update (16.7).. Is this ok ?

The .default file has been added there by the Features application. It is not part of the CSSU and therefore you should not expect it to be updated by those updates.

BTW, re-installation of hildon-desktop doesn't give the option to update the transitions.ini file.
