A question about CSSU version number shown in the 'Settings' -> 'About Community SSU' page.

I updated the CSSU from 20.2010.36-2maemo15 to the latest 16.8 via terminal. However the 'About Community SSU' still shows that the version number 15. All the features of the latest CSSU version are present so the actual version in use is the latest. Is there any way to get the system to show the right version?

This is a long thread, maybe this has been discussed before but didn't manage to find information about it.

You can see which packages are not being upgraded by going to terminal and typing

sudo gainroot

apt-get update

apt-get install mp-fremantle-community-pr

I believe this is part of Kernel-Power v48. Note - not yet stable, and YMMV. Playback is possible ; obviously scaled to whatever resolution.

what the hell happen to my camera when i install the CSSU.the quality of my captured pictures became grainy and its flash wa lessen its power...its quality look like a 1.3 megapixel camera..im so piss off for the CSSU did..:mad:

I can confirm that there have been no issues or reduction in photo quality since my installation of CSSU. 16.8 was my first installation.

Guys, since the camera app is new, check its settings... it is probably set to capture low-res pics (it was on mine).

If true, I will expect a public apology here ;)

install leafpad
open xterminal

leafpad /usr/share/hildon-desktop/transitions.ini

scroll down to end
find a line that begins with whitelist= and add osso-browser
if there is no such line make one
save and exit
launch browser
rotate your phone
profit :)

I decided to try forced rotation and it works much better as I assumed. What am I missing cause I can't get blacklist working?

I have modified both /usr/share/hildon-desktop/transitions.ini and transitions.ini -files found on /usr/share/themes/ -folder like this

If you were talking about the orientation lock.

How do i get the method to make it always in portrait mode?

Keep the keyboard closed while hitting the phone app, it will automaticly start in portrait.
If you open the keyboard and hit the phone app. it will start in landscape.

The orientation lock is on top, hit phone and in the settings the button to turn(Draaiknop = dutch, first img), select portrait(Schermstand, 2nd img) but is only works while the keyboard is closed

Since i have updated the CCSU latest update the GSP singal catching ability has gone way low it takes too much time ....anything fix for that

i have two questions
1: wanted to know that is it necessary to reflash the phone after the cssu has been installed? or is it necessary to reflash the phone first and then install the cssu update?

2: to install the latest update, we just click on the green arrow that says unstable right?... please guide

No, you don't have to reflash or do anything hard. Just install the package by following the instructions.

That said, remember this is pre-release software. It will have bugs.

bro, are you using the latest cssu? is it working fine with you? if you are using it that is... any suggestions? i have installed the portrait hildon desktop, it rotates the display but i can't rotate anything else, none of the apps... what do you suggest i do? if you are using the cssu what's with it?

I'm not sure what you mean.
Do you know the exact name of the package or application you talked about here and before ? 'hildon desktop' is a core part of your phone, and you'd not normally remove it.
It is replaced for you by CSSU however.

If you mean some other 3rd party package that offers desktop rotation, then yes, you should remove this before installing CSSU.

yes i did mean that third party hildon portrait .deb that i installed, the thing is that i tried so many times to get rid of it, posted so many times but it doesn't go, tried that purge option too, but it's still there... if i however try installing the cssu, will it be ok? i just can't flash the phone because of one tiny app... you know a way to remove it? i installed it from a forum post here.. the hildon desktop portrait deb file

this is the thread from where i installed the hildon portrait mode... and yes, i have tried everything but the portrait mode is still there... someone in the end said i should reflash, but i don't and i can't... there are electricity issues where i reside, so i can't risk that bro

I'd go ahead and install the CSSU. It should overwrite, hopefully.

Post back in the CSSU wont apply though.

I had the same problem, did it by X-Terminal
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
once i had to type Y to continue
rebooted and all went wel
now i have the latest version
