Please post exactly what you typed, and the full response it gave you. I doubt 'nothing' happened.

Start video recording and during recoding close camera cover. Then check if the recorded video is playable or not. I tried many times and I always end up with unplayable (corrupted) video.

I have latest CSSU and kernel power 48. Because I have multiboot I also tested stock kernel and the result is the same. But on friend's phone without installed CSSU the recorded video is fine.
Another thing, my phone has installed fcam-drivers 1.0.7-2, but on the friend's it is 1.0.7-1.

same with phone.got issues regarding with camera.:)

If you can't reflash your device, CSSU is not suitable for you. In some instances for certain things it will work better but for other things no. So in essence its a gamble.

Any estimative of how long until it will stop being such a big gamble?

'Can't' menaing it is impossible for you to flash or that you absolutely don't want to? If the former, then it will never be stable enough imo.

But then again, there are bugs in every level of firmware. If the latter, were you ever comfortable to update to PR 1.3? There will never be an absolute certainty, it may be best to wait until it's listed as stable and then make the decision on taking the gamble...but it would still be a gamble...even if it is ever-so-slight at that point.

I finally took the plunge with the latest release and it seems to be as stable for me as the previous firmware releases.

hmmm....at first you said "don't want" then at the end you said "you can't" so which one isit????

re-flash is the best way to get rid a kind of problem that your device have right now....
i use to be scare to reflash my device before but since my device got plenty of problem i decided to reflash it at the end....
make backup first using default backup apps (backupmenu also can but just for emergency cases)....then backup MyDocs files to your pc....after finish backup then re-flash....after re-flash restore backup....use default backup to restore back your files but remember don't restore applications list...re-install all apps/program manually so you can view the installation log carefully...
i did all that to my device...now i got no problem anymore (hopefully)...everything works flawless...no problem regarding installing libqtm-11 & libqtm-12 (for kaspovus & fMobi)...no random reboot & much more....

- Install Leafpad
- open X-terminal
- become root
- type leafpad /usr/share/hildon-desktop/transitions.ini
- leafpad opens
- edit file at the bottom
- blacklist = GarnetVM
- save, close and reboot

Apologies if this has already been covered, but it's a looong thrad and a cursory search didn't bring up the answers i am looking for:

I am not that interested in the new transitions or rotations, but I do quite like the idea of being able to use offline IMAP as per CSSU PR 1.3.3.7-10. Is there any way to install the latest modest/tinymail without the rest of the CSSU? Is it wise to do so? And, if it doesn't agree with me, can I revert to the stock version easily?

Yeah, you can. Not sure what the thread is but Matt (the developer of it) has his own repo with just that Modest patch in it. I assume I uninstalled the repo and the patch just like anything else when I updated to CSSU so yeah, it should be fine for that.

Do a search for modest patch or something to that effect. All the same, if you're not afraid of a reflash, CSSU is pretty awesome. No need to use the extra perks if you don't want to.

Found the thread, but it hasn't been updated in a few months and Matt stated he's giving up on Open Source. Is the CSSU in synch with his repo or a more up-to-date version?

At the moment my PC's broken and I won't get round to fixing it until I move in about a month, so I don't have reliable access to reflashing. After that, we'll see...

I copied the app.name from your post assuming it was spelled correct, sorry guilledoc.
Googled a few pages and found Garnet VM, gvm, garnetvm...
if you open the app. what's written on the topbar?

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

Since installing the latest (16.8), I noticed that sometimes scrolling acts up: When scrolling down (web browser, but also app menu), upon release of my finger after the up-swipe, the screen suddenly scrolls down again.
I'm very sure this started recently, after the CSSU upgrade. I've been following each version, and this surely only started recently.
I'm also using kp48 for about as long as it existed.

I also notice that although the device is pretty fluid in usage, starting apps feels like it is slower with 16.8. Just mentioning in case this is connected with my scrolling problem.

Hello all,

It seems that the following apps are not longer working (seg fault) after the latest CSSU 16.8 upgrade on my device:

- VGB (Gameboy Emulator)
- iNES (NES Emulator)
- VGBA (Gameboy Advance Emulator
- MasterGear (SMS Emulator)

Any thoughts/ideas?

Thanks,
-DJ

The two applications it installs are gvm and gvmlauncher, so try adding both of those (I assume the blacklist uses the executable file names).

Simplest way to find out for sure is launch the Garnet VM app, then lauch terminal and run:
Code:

ps
You'll see a list of processes and the obvious garnet process - the basename of this is what you want to add to the blacklist (remember to bounce hildon!).

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

It seems there is a problem with the CSSU repo:

When it's enabled I get "apt-worker closed connection" in app manager logs, then my repo's disappear and I cannot install anything.

If I disable the CSSU repo, it works fine.

Anyone else had this?

EDIT: This has only happened in the last 10 mins

I know that overclocking is doing by patching the kernel system. does it exist an overclocking software/bash/anything for the CSSU kernel?

1) I'm REALLY French, and i don't care if you don't trust this fact.
2) For what interest dit you look on this information at all? Racism? What do you want to prove with these affirmations? And as most, why would i lie on a HELPING forum??? Try to look at my old posts, when i can, i help as anybody here!
3) I asked it to find a COMPATIBLE overclocking software. I've already tested these softs before, with the official firmware. Now, i want to know BEFORE using it on the CSSU if it works, or not.

Last: answering like this show how stupid can be a man. My english is probably lame, but it doesn't make me sillier than you are...

am i the only person who had uncalibered accelerometer on random reboots? it was a bug with the pr1.1 and 1.2, said it'll be fixed in pr1.3.. didnt turn out that well..
and the media player widget's play button doesn't work.. and im annoyed by rebooting my phone atleast 3-5 times jus to get both of them working.. ._.
refer to these 2 bugs for more details..
https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7909 <-- mp widget
https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6996 <-- accelerometer

this isn't related in cssu.. but i hope the next update can do something about it..
