Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

I think to pull off portrait keyboards (based on analysis of a few binaries and on looking at the source code for ukeyboard and ukbdcreator) we would need:
Cloned header files for libimlayouts.so.0 (library used to read the keyboard layout files)
Complete clone of libhildon-im-vkbrenderer.so.3 and vkbrenderer.so (the rendering logic for the virtual keyboard)
Probably clones of other libraries.
A complete new set of portrait keyboard layouts that properly encode the keys so that the code knows which row the keys go on (the layout files contain row information in their data)

So in short its going to be very difficult to pull off.

EDIT: looks like vkbrenderer.so is a symlink to libhildon-im-vkbrenderer.so.3. Doesnt make reverse engineering it any easier though :)

Swipe (or swype) on n900 vkb, please?

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

speaking of swipe N900 doesnt have proper portrait buttons in brower.. it would be cool if v have swipe feature enabled in it.. so summing all up i ask the CSSU the following
1.proper portrait keyboard
2.720p patch
3. swipe in browser(portrait or through out if possible;))
4.proper image gallery

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

Hi,
I recently Installed CSSU to my N900 and starting using it, I was amazed by the work done , so I thank everyone participated in this.

I wanted to report a bug so i started reading all the threads first so that I don't replicate , but it is really very time consuming to read all the threads regarding CSSU Q&A , I will just report it hoping I don't waste someone's time :)

When i receive a call , and the desktop is in landscape mode the "Reject" button disappears (out of screen borders at the down side)leaving only "Answer" button in the screen with a width occupying the whole area, and if i turned the mobile to portrait mode then landscape mode again everything returns to normal and both buttons appears again adjacent to each other.

btw ,I am using goldrush theme .

What font are you using?
I faced this only when using some "big" font.

I am using SwissA the Default size .
I noticed another thing ... some times in Landscape mode this doesn't happen and buttons appears in the right order , I think it has to be in an exact orientation to make it happen and fixing it is by just turning the mobile to force Portrait mode and go back to landscape (It works even if the Landscape orientation Lock is enabled )

It must have something to do with the Accelerometer sensor , it is now more confusing for me

MAG is responsible for testing. The stable version is governed by merli1991. He also is close to pushing it in the wild. Let's keep our fingers crossed and wait with a bit of patience ;)

The N900 is not a portrait device. All of you who are asking that the CSSU get bogged down with portrait vkb - get a N9 instead, and spare us the overhead.

Yes, it wasn't meant to be portrait. But i like seeing it become portrait'able. What issues do you want to get fixed? Is there something very important? Btw n9 and n900 are different things, they are not comparable as i think.

1) compared to stock camera app, the camera-ui takes low quality videos.. i uploaded em on fb.. with stock, they're are bigger in size and quality.. in camera-ui, they're jus 24 mb for.. 3 min? and 250mb for 10 min for stock.. thats a big difference.. and yes, i was using it on highest quality..

2)the flashlight applet wont work.. says camera is in use..

a bit of give and take if you ask me. Camera-ui2 included in CSSU testing right now gives more control over camera features. You can do some crazy shooting only possible with more advanced options like e.g. 5mp option works the best for me. ISO sensitivity 800 and White balance sunny and exposure set to -.5 will part black and sunny beautifully. At the same time, video now has the much appreciated option of being able to focus and refocus while shooting a video.

Try this one http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=549.
BTW it seems the problem is not with the quality, but with framerate.

would someone consider implementing this "hack" into cssu:

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

Hello, community,

I have a weird bug since I upgraded to latest CSSU update. The phone app is portrait mode doesn't show proper portrait orientation of incoming call. It looks like landscape, yet "Reject" button is just a thin red line below "answer" button. Landscape works okay, but I got used to portrait from the beginning. It does work okay only if you leave the phone not at the desktop, but at the portrait app with list of calls. In this case portrait works fine. This issue was mentioned before by some community members, but it seems fixing is not that easy. I've tried to swap portrait and landscape in phone app, tried to include "rtcom-call-ui" into blacklist of transitions.ini, yet nothing helps.

Guys, if there is any way to bring it back, it would be sweet. Don't use portrait at all, just for phone app.

Cheers,
Vlad

Same problem as Kosyanenko Vlad here. I cannot see the red reject button when answering a call in landscape mode. I'm using no other or bigger fonts than the ususal ones.

20.2010.36-2maemo16.8 is the latest version, isn't it?

I have found out that this "no red reject button" problem only occurs then phone app orientation is set to portrait.

Hello, I'd like to remind my post about patched osso-wlan (wlancond) which is needed for updated wl1251 wifi driver.

If somebody else tested it please write results. This patched osso-wlan could be included into CSSU.

@Kosyanenko Vlad
No, it's the landscape orientation when the "red reject button" doesn't appear.

Landscape is:

Potrait is:

Sorry for the crudity of this N900 model.

@ll those who are getting reject call button problems...

have u all locked hildon-desktop to landscape mode using a command ... (i don't remember but was stated here a few posts behind)

if yes then that is causing the problems...

turn it to true again and everything will be okay..

EDIT:
okay i found the link...

I locked the orientation with this app, see screenshot #1.

Edit:
Strange, now I have the reject button. I unlocked the screen and locked it again. Now there is the button! So my problem is solved! See screenshot #2 :)

okay...set autorotation on from the status applet and in the xterm type this command

gconftool -st bool /apps/osso/hildon-desktop/ui_can_rotate false

and check...
