So I reflashed my phone just now, first thing I installed was the power kernel, mobilehotspot and QCPU frequency app, all 3 are working fine, I am overclocked again to 1150.

Thanks for sharing your solution here.

Can the lanscape lock work with individual apps? like disable rotation each app and keep it disabled until manually enable.

Here is the example:

when disable the rotation of each app, it will write the name of the applications that disabled into a log file or text file. Rotation daemon program will read from the text file for the name of application inside this log file and if it doesn't then autorotate as usual but if it does then ignore the rotation request.

This will make most apps compatible :)

Edit: correct wording

I believe this issue has been addressed a number of times in this thread. The plan is to have a whitelist ( not a blacklist) of apps that will be auto rotated.

Main desktop can be forced to portrait, but is currently useless.

Conversations app now works perfectly in portrait mode in CSSU with forced rotation enabled.

Conversations app works good, but single conversation doesn't seem to show message in the right way! isn't it?

When in portrait mode on the Single SMS view. The buttons at the bottom are completely off the screen.

It should have Delete/Copy/Forward but in portrait it only has Copy/Forward and part of the Copy button is cut off..

Does anybody have a fix for the constant Modest crashes?

Even when there is no connection to the internet Modest keeps trying to open and then I keep getting the Internal Error messages.

My email accounts are set to Manual send/recieve so there is NO reason for modest to even open..

I made a few changes in theme customiser and now the z axis rotation and forced rotation does not seem to work. only the phone app rotates and that too in x-y axis.. the transitions.ini file is still the edited one. The blurlessness still works as well.

is it a bug or am i missing something?

maybe it would be easier to get just the icons to rotate?
It's tough handling the device in the bus..

as someone already said the update is causing a boldness in some part of some letters in some places. Also default font of xterm seems to get larger, font in text box of opera seems bit taller(thinner) and pixelated. don't know how it used to be previously but in yahoo smtp, mail is sent according to modest but actually not sent. seems like yahoo free smtp does not works anymore.

Mate,

Install DrLaunch. This will allow you to have Icons for Apps that auto rotate :)

The Icons has been done with Dr. Launch

But maybe the possibility of just rotating the widgets and icons when the phone is in portrait mode.

Then the taskbar can either stay in its Landscape view or switch to the top??

Are portrait swivveling widgets a possiblity? This would give us a semi usable portrait hildon desktop :)

OFC atm forcing Hildon-Desktop into portrait mode cuts off half the screen and the bottom of the screen isn't used. So some way to moving the right part that's cut off to the bottom would have to be done.

Then we could just arrange our icons so they work in both portrait and landscape. This would be the first sorta step for a use-able portrait Hildon-Desktop

Since last CSSU update I've also suffered occasional "stucked" zoom on press. I recall that the update changed the zoom behaviour so that it will return once you lift the finger, but it seems to bug sometimes.

I preferred the "old" zoom when tapped -style. It never bugged once.

A feature request..
Can the rotation be like this :
When Keyboard closed , System wide portrait irrespective of what application we are using ( except for the task manager i guess )
When keyboard open, System wide landscape..

Can it be included somehow?
or a feature in PowerButton Menu : like" Lock Orientation to Keyboard "

Yahoo smtp isn't working right for me, though it was a week or so ago. I thought I was just dumb :)

Would it be possible for CSSU to give us new flash?

Also, will it eventually work with all themes (i mean like portrait conversations etc) or only particular ones?

I'm having the same stuck zoom-in issue. It seems the desktop doesn't detect the un-press and it leaves it zoomed in, sometimes, depending on system load apparently.

I think the zoom-in effect could be further configurable:
a) turned off by default.
b) follow finger press as it currently is, but fixed.
c) on finger press, zoom in, then zoom out regardless of finger within 100-200ms; perhaps not up to the current zoom of 1% (10 steps of .1 if I read the source correctly).
d) make it zoom in-out-in-out in a wobbly way, but more subtle; like 0.5% in, out, 0.2% in, out. Like the finger hitting a watery surface of sorts.

I had the intent of digging into the source, but boy, is it complicated... so many layers of APIs, gtk, clutter, hildon, etc. and I'm just a hardware dev. :)

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

With the latest CSSU, I noticed an interesting behavior. With the orientation-lock, upon receiving a call the orientation stayed in landscape, but the Phone app still changed into it's portrait layout! This resulted in the answer button being stretched out, and the reject button was cut off below the edge of the screen. This happened while I was listening to music with the (Nokia) Media Player, perhaps related. Not a major problem, just a curious glitch :)

Love the CSSU, thanks everyone for developing and/or testing it!

Same problem with browser. It is probably going to be pretty hard to fix, because they don't care about the screen rotation and they are closed source :( Hopefully I'm wrong.

microB if am correct already supports rotation. you need to enable it from settings of microb

I think it may have something to do with daylight savings time. Could be wrong.

I already thought of a quick hack that makes microB listen to a different gconf key (by sed-ing the binary) but I'll need to make a daemon that listen to keyboard slides and sets the key to true/false accordingly, then set it to true (keyboard slide open) when orientation is locked.

You need to have extras-devel enabled and then:
apt-get update
apt-get install cssutransitionstuner

Have we found a solution yet for icons becoming larger (or larger than the previous setting) after SSU install?? In Theme Customizer for me, the "app shortcut size" and "web bookmark size" is greyed out and will not allow me to change it. Any ideas d-iivil??

Current version of hildon-home @ CSSU doesn't support those functions. It's under work and hopefully will be added to CSSU soon.
