MAybe a final fix for the media widget and the annoyance of playing music after a missed call.

I dont know why but as of day one my alarm most of the time gets stuck. so i only can stop it by pulling battery out.

I hope this is the right thread to request stuff?

As noted in the Installation FAQ, the Problems tab within Application Manager can often explain this in more detail. There is usually one of two reasons:
  1. Not enough rootfs space
  2. Conflicting packages preventing installation

Usually #2 is caused by installing new copies of system debs such as hildon-desktop.

Unfortunately the media widget is closed source so there is no easy fix for this. Someone would need to write a replacement media widget from scratch.

No, but it's hardly the end of the world, is it? Annoying, yes. Anyway, Mohammad's pushed a fix provided by Sc0pius: #11829.

After installing the patches, neither camkeyd nor shortcutd are working anymore.
I can just use the camera button to delete letters.
Any help is welcome.

I agree it is only a minor issue but it seems there are only two issues with the CSSU in any event so it would be nice to fix this one?

Will Mohammad's fix appear as an automatic update in due course or will we have to do a download manually if we have already downloaded the original CSSU?

Please keep up the good work.

I cannot install this, I have the following packages held back:
The following packages have been kept back:
hildon-control-panel hildon-desktop
hildon-status-menu mp-fremantle-community-pr

How can I downgrade the mentioned packages so HAM install the ones from SSU?

Thanks in advance.

Hypothetically speaking, there is a PR 1.4, how that affect this?

How would be the update for the end user? Through wifi without problems?

The update will show up like a PR?

Grettings.

anyone else experience this, that when you have a bookmark on your desktop and use it it opens the first browser page with all the bookmarks and the actual bookmark?

this only happens for me when no other webpage is open and only with my bookmarks the google one that was preeloaded does not do this.

edit: cant find any of this in the bugtracker, so i guess its only me..

First of all thanks for helping out maemo stay alive and continue to grow. I would like to ask the following questions:

1) if one installs the community ssu is it possible to install any nokia updates if ones come available?

2) can the community update components like flash?

Depends entirely on how anal Nokia is about these things. Usually their updates depend on every little system file being the exactly right version or some such. If they're nice, they'll make it updateable without conflicts with what's in the CSSU. If not, then you can always downgrade, I'm sure.

If the 'community' wants to pay Adobe's licensing fees. Or do it with questionable legality. The latter is doable (though no one has bothered), but it wouldn't be included within the CSSU, since the CSSU is a more 'legitimate' Community Council supported thing.

plus If you keep the bookmark brower open while opening a desktop shortcut to a web page, your page is opened nicely but you are redirected to the bookmark page :(

Reporting all OK after 36 hrs use, apart from the desktop web shortcut issue.

Bearing in mind the bewhildering complexity of this, the two bugs identified so far are testament to the skills of the SSU team.

In fact, the shortcut bug is something of a blessing in disguise so I'll leave it in place for now.

Thanks to the whole team!

are you talking about conflict between MaeModder and this ?

Dany-69 2011-01-31 18:45

Re: [Council] Maemo 5 gets community OS updates

The conflict isn't with maemodder... Maemodder is the simpliest program ever written .. only pure bash (and a bit of python and zenity) xD

The problem are the custom packages , just like hildon-desktop, hildon-staus-menu anche hildon-control-panel.
The Community SSU neeeds you to have the original packages ... so everyone has installed the custom packages (even who has done this through maemodder) has to remove them ;)

roger_27 2011-01-31 18:59

Re: [Council] Maemo 5 gets community OS updates

I hope this hasn't been asked in the past 9 pages, but what if Nokia makes a pr1.4 ? and it overwrites the fixed packages that the CSSU has fixed.

Shouldnt Nokia officially 'pass the torch' to the Maemo community so this doesn't happen?

or how exactly will this work?

Remote desktop (RDesktop) seems to halt after login screen.
http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/258...1013121283.png
Screen does not respond at all to touch. By pressing one of the side buttons (power/volume/camera) you can get forward. Key pressing on QWERTY does not do anything.

Has somebody else tested RDesktop and notice same problem?
If yes, then I can raise a bug. Bug list do not have similar bug yet.

Edit: This worked before CSSU.

Can you point me to the discussion that resulted in hildon-desktop changes included in SSU? Was inclusion of kernel-power discussed?
