Overclocking stopped after installing nitdroid!!!!!!!!

i have Maemo PR1.3 and Nitdroid 0.0.8. I had my N900 overclocked at 800mhz. Overclocking has stopped after installing Nitdroid. I am sure this has already been discussed but I know nothing about kernel power so please can anyone explain it in detail.
Sorry for my bad english.

follow this guide :

full guide to install multiboot 0.2.11 and kernelpower46 :

download this file :
http://www.mediafire.com/?4729126z6ig11k6

unpack it and copy its contents to /home/user/MyDocs

then open terminal and write the following :

root

cd /home/user/MyDocs

dpkg -i multiboot-0.2.11.deb

dpkg -i kernel-power-bootimg_2.6.28-maemo46_armel.deb
dpkg -i kernel-power-modules_2.6.28-maemo46_armel.deb
dpkg -i multiboot-kernel-maemo_0.3-1_armel.deb
dpkg -i multiboot-kernel-power_0.3-1_armel.deb

dpkg -i kernel-power-headers_2.6.28-maemo46_armel.deb
dpkg -i kernel-power_2.6.28-maemo46_armel.deb
dpkg -i kernel-power-flasher_2.6.28-maemo46_armel.deb
dpkg -i kernel-power-settings_0.11_armel.deb

then restart ur mobile with opened keyboard and u will find 3 choices :

1 - for stock maemo kernel
2 - for kernel power 46
3 - for nitdroid

Thanks man. I have successfully installed the kernel power successfully. What should I do after installing it. I mean how do I overclock it now???

Re: Overclocking stopped after installing nitdroid!!!!!!!!

choose kernel power from the choices of multiboot

it will be the 2nd choice

then write overclock commands in the terminal or the way u used to overclock before

I overclocked it using the maemo flasher. Now is this what I need to do??
1. Connect my phone to USB
2. Choose kernel power.
3. Press the U key until USB logo comes at top right.
4. Then use the flasher to do it..

Thanks in advance.

This is a support forum. If you have nothing to offer then shut the f up. Not all of us know what we're talking about, me included. I get so peed off with comments like that. If you can help then help. If not or are not willing to then **** off. At least someone had the decency to offer advice.

this is a support forum? woah okay big man i hadn't got the memo, guess our in charge now eh?! if you have no idea what you're talking about and manage to stumble blindly through TWO tutorials completely ignoring warnings such as "DONT DO THIS IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE DOING"THIS COULD BRICK YOUR DEVICE "" etc etc etc. AND specifically mention that THIS VERY THING WILL HAPPEN, then you dont deserve help, okay thats unfair, you deserve mocked a lot before you get help, perhaps this way maybe you'll actually read the thing first two times around. or brick your device. you may get peed off with comments like mine, i get peed off with stupidity. who's more wrong?

(apologies to literate readers for excessive use of caps, some people just dont read it otherwise, sometimes even with)

I have managed to f my device twice. But thanks to people who give a ****, I've sorted it out. My point was, IF YOU CAN HELP TEN DO. IF NOT DON'T. Did you like the caps?

was your post helpful? no. then follow your own advice!

i suppose it depends on what you find helpful, i find encouraging stupid behaviour to be counter productive.

if i went to the mechanic and told him my car was broken yes i would like him to fix it, but if my car was broken simply because i'd driven everywhere in first gear and ignored the oil warning light that had been flashing for two months beforehand i would expect to be ridiculed to the point where i would stop such stupid behaviour, and perhaps i wont be back so soon in the future.

again, depends how you look at it, i find preventative mocking extremely useful in many cases. i'm sure you think yours was in some way too. oh and i'm from Glasgow, outside in the snow is the best place to sort any argument! ;)

Since you are not a native speaker, you might not realize that punctuation marks such as ? and ! are normally used one at a time. The point of a ? is to indicate a question; there is no point to ??? except to distract the reader away from that question. The same goes for !!!!!!, which indicates that the writer is anxious or the keyboard is stuck.

I'm in Tipperary. Taking the piss aside.it would be nice to talk to someone who knows what they're talking about regarding our device. If you could spare a phone call, I would love some advice about how the whole thing works. Nothing gay or anything.

lol i can barely resist saying it, but given you must hear it a lot i shal pass.

anyway i'm really not an expert, i had no experience of linux before getting my n900 and also consider myself a noob, but there are some excellently written tutorials and wikis here, loads and loads of helpful threads and also helpful people. if you take your time to read through them (not EVERYTHING, just whats relevant to what you want to know) you will understand, and if you dont by all means ask before you do something that will brick your phone and you will find friendly and useful help. on the other hand if you ignore all the warnings and come back with a new thread crying about something you were told would happen, were warned about repeatedly, and didn't bother searhing for an answer before asking, i'm going to cry "stupid!" several times before i help (and i will try to help eventually, wouldn't leave anyone with a brick if it can be avoided!)

but if you still want a non-expert to text about your n900 occasionally (and ur definately positive its nothing gay) i can pm you my number.
