Flashing the N900 problem

Hi,

I've a problem with flashing my N900. I flashed the eMMC first WITHOUT the -R parameter at the back. It loads... and at the end it closes itself (I believe that it auto close after finishes)

Then I tried to flash the combine right after flashing the eMMC without unpluging or turning on the phone. The flasher poped up and gone right away.

Now, my phone is half dead, is there any solution with this?

THANKS!!!!!

Can boot up, but dark screen. A weird GUI (All the words become boxes etc)

You need to flash the fiasco image now. That's the PR1.3 download. That will fix your phone. Although, if I were you I would flash eMMC again and then, WITHOUT REBOOTING, flash the fiasco image directly after.

Voila. One fixed phone.

I've done that few times already, but same thing happens. I am charging the battery to see if that helps.

So you have flashed *both* the eMMC and fiasco images and you get the boxed text as a GUI?

Yes, that is WITHOUT rebooting in between as well after flashing the eMMC.

Something convinced me that while flashing the combine, it didn't do it properly (Because it closes itself right away) and then nothing happened for the next 10 minutes.

Also, the boxes while booting is "Asking the password" :S which if I put in my password, and I can boot up.

All the GUI is gone...

Ok, sounds strange to me. Why do you have a password to boot into the phone? And can you remove it? Perhaps the requirement for a password is blocking write to certain sections of the phone during flashing the fiasco image.

Alternatively, can you get into R&D mode?

Just to state here that I am using Windows 7 32 bits

I've flashed the device before with password on it and things went well. But this time is just odd.

To remove it now is a inpossible job because all the GUI has gone.

Re: Flashing the N900 problem

Somehow, is fixed :S, The solution was (what I did).
1. Uninstall the flasher
2. Clear the register
3. Reboot the PC
4. Install the flasher
5. Reboot
6. Follow the flasher instruction and good luck!

P.S. Some how, the password is still there and but all the photos, videos etc are gone.
