Bluetooth headset not working

i tried to pair or even detect nokia BT headset but my n900 can't see it while my other phone n81 can see and pair easily to it, where could be the problem ? is it main.conf in /etc/bluetooth/ ?

What is the firmware version of your N900?

AgogData 2011-01-27 01:41

Re: Bluetooth headset not working

its the lastest pr1.3, i've read about how main.conf in etc/blutooth/ can be messed up sometimes, do you think its related ?

Re: Bluetooth headset not working

Yes I've heard of the issues but I haven't heard of them again after several firmware update. Since you bought it up, you may check whether DisablePlugins has anything set in your main.conf:

Code:

grep DisablePlugins /etc/bluetooth/main.conf

Re: Bluetooth headset not working

it says :
Quote:

DisablePlugins = network, input, hal
is that ok ?

Not really. Put a # behind it to comment it out or simply delete the line, then restart the bluetooth and try again.

Code:

root
stop bluetoothd
start bluetoothd

do you mean like
# grep DisablePlugins /etc/bluetooth/main.conf
?

No, I mean edit the file /etc/bluetooth/main.conf as root and comment out (or remove) the line starting with DisablePlugins.

Do you know how to edit a file BTW?

ok, i've edited it and added the # but still can't detect it
so i deleted that line but also can't detect anything.

I know when pairing my Jawbone Icon (my toddler lost the BH703 I got free with the N97 :( ), I need to reboot my N900 cause the script gets stuck on "pairing" even though it works fine after.

Since I don't have the bluetooth headsets in question I am not be able to give you too many suggestions on this. Still I'll try to research it a bit and discuss with you later.
