Not working for me.
It looks as if the domain registration expired... (It's on client hold at the registrar.)

Ugh...bummer, just when I needed to use it today. A work around is to use gmaptogpx app located here http://www.elsewhere.org/GMapToGPX/. Make sure to click on "Points" & "Track" to get the format needed for MM. Then just copy the directions and import into MM.

Yeah, I've been trying to get that javascript to run locally off of my filesystem. (I want to add a "Save Directions" Button. All that copy/paste is a pain in the a**.)

Anyone done this? If so, how did you format the URL in microb? ([EDIT] using file:/// instead of http:// works in firefox, but not on the tablet...)

cheers,

Full seemed to work as well. Thanks for this tip, btw! I am off to catch a ferry to Visby Friday morning, and really wanted the directions on MM.

Can somebody explain me step-by-step how to make a route without using gnuite's server?

piotr,

1. go to http://elsewhere.org/journal/gmaptogpx. Scroll down to Instructions, long-click the 'GMaptoGPX' link under #1 and add it to your bookmarks.
2. go to maps.google.com and get directions. From there, click your bookmark. It'll open the gmaptogpx script.
3. Use the buttons at the top to decide how many points you want in your route. (I use 'full')Then copy the GPX data from the text box and paste into a text file. Save that file with a GPX extension.
4. Open the GPX file in your mapping app.

HTH,

I tried it but when i try to import it into Maemo Mapper GPX parsing error occurs. How to fix it?

Re: gnuite.com down?

@piotrek it worked for me just some minutes ago.

On the other hand, can anyone nudge me in the right direction of configuring mapper to get maps from google? Since gnuite is down, the download doesn't work :/

The parsing error means that it's not in the right form for MM. You need to click on "Full", and someone else said that "points and track" works as well. After you click on Full then copy-paste ALL of the the file into a text editor and save it.

Good luck!
