Only FruMMage can alter the first post, so here is hoping he finds time to come back and help out. Still have not found the time to study any of the other tools around doing similar stuff :(.

Maybe it would be better to start a new thread and join the autoinstaller/packaging efforts for a newer, easy to install, version.

Sofar I have stayed away from packaging etc., since I have zero experience in it and these forums are sufficient to get updates out. But I am starting to seriously consider spending time learning that process, probably will push one more update to fix the obvious bugs and then devote some time to learning packaging and placing things in the repos. Still want to hear from FruMMage, since I do not consider myself the owner/maintainer of this package yet.

Well thats how OSS works, if someone can't do something other one can take his place, thanks StefanL.

Regarding packaging, with pypackager it should be easy. All the dependencies are already in the repos.

Stefan.. It seems like frumm is busy and not here often.
You should just modify what you need (open source? Linux! Win!) and start your own fork of the project instead of waiting.
I was about to start the auto installer and build an all in one .deb and try upload to repos. We might be able to do a dual effort. You do the air crack side and I will work on the installer and packaging.

On a side note: I have no clue on installers and packaging, I was just fiddling when I was at work.
But I got to reading and enjoying it.. I'll pick up again soon.

Seems a bit rude.
Handshake is on 1st page. Also when I was cracking my wpa I didn't get a handshake, yet it worked (couldn't crack the key).

Also.. Your question has been asked many, many times. That could be why no one has answered you.

I totally agree with guys posting before - even with repos, *everyone* can upload new version, don't need to be maintainer (although, non-maintainer can't promote to testing and extras). With project that was never on repos, it's much easier to handle technically, and still in spirit of Open Source :)

That's the joy - FruMMage did something, then You contributed Your code based on his code, then, if He returns, he can contribute more on your code... ;) Also, there is no problem for You making him maintainer, if He got time again.

So, big +1 on pushing this into repos. Also, if after learning, you got problems with repos inner working, just ask here, and I'm sure knowledgeable folks will be more than happy to help You. Mentalist Traceur, for example, is probably already up to kill me, for recommending his help on learning repos :rolleyes:

I would be glad if people have so much ethical constraints when abandoning projects, instead of taking up orphaned or semi-orphaned one :cool: Don't get me wrong, thought - it wasn't mean to be bitting irony over You or FruMMage, as I really understand that real-life things may effectively block possibility to work on some projects.

Latest update to fix some issues with 0.43 is attached below. This update has some more ui tweaks and fixes all issues with the APs with spaces thingy:

1) UI layout minor fix: Decrypt Tab layout tweak (it now is as wide as the other tabs and buttons have been sized to fit full width).
2) UI interaction minor fix: Access Point tab action buttons now check status of monitor mode and provide informative messages ("Enable monitor mode", "Press Scan Button").
3) Fixed deletion of caps and keys for APs with spaces.
4) Now deletes all files in the cap directory associated with the selected cap file to be deleted (4 total).

Install version 0.3 from post no 1. in this thread (or just apply to any other working version), then apply my update. As per usual, make a back-up copy of the files to be replaced (Main.py, FAS.py, getinfo.sh, scan.sh, getmacmanaged.sh, getmacmonitor.sh, wepcaplist.sh, wpacaplist.sh, keylist.sh), copy the archive to the FAS directory on your N900 and extract with-in xterm in the FAS directory:

tar -xzvf faircrack0.44.tar.gz

Installed and tested - fixes working fine (ho ever, I tested only things broken in 0.43, will test AP's with spaces later). Thanks, StefanL!
