Hey peeps

I've followed all the steps in the guide, i've got the shortcut and everything BUT when i try to launch fAircrack it doesn't work, it goes into loading then nothing happens and im back to the desktop. This also happens when I try to launch through terminal.

I'm a new n900 user so any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

K, you need to do some trouble shooting; first check whether you have python installed and running (type python in terminal), then make sure you have all the pre recs from post #1, especially recommend having power kernel.

hey StephanL were you able to crack a wep network that has a wi-fi protected setup compliant?

Python seems to be installed and running, as for the pre recs I assumed the tar came with aircrack, john and macchanger? i'm probably wrong, I also got rootsh instead of sudser (i'm pretty sure they do the same thing) and I don't have PyQt, not sure where to get/put it. Also where would I acquire this power kernel?

Lucky for me it isn't dead :) as i'm sure you can tell i'm a complete noob.

Cracked plenty of WEP networks, not sure if any of them were wi-fi protected setup compliant. :(

Most things that need installing can be installed using terminal and the following command:

apt-get install program (on my set-up I need to put sudo in front of all that).

This is my preferred way since the default program manager sux. Tar should already be installed. Since you are a noob, you should spend some time reading the forums and learning how your N900 does things ;-). Search button is your friend :D. Come back here when you have specific questions related to this thread.:rolleyes:

WiFi "protected setup" is just about automatic configuration of passwords and MAC filtering, it does not improve security. It *should* improve convenience of creating WLAN, but I tend to think otherwise ;) Anyway, if it is WEP, it is crackable without much hassle.

Hey...Can someone please tell me how to remove/uninstall the "fAircrack" icon/app from my N900...I have been searching for ways to do this for a long time with no success:(:(:(
