I have fallen over at the final hurdle with John, everybody. I have created the new GUI and have written the commands but for some reason I can not figure out how to make the John pipe window to appear as a separate xterm. The command I usually use to make things run in separate xterms is:

osso-xterm -e "command args"

But all that happens is the window opens then closes straight away. The annoying thing is that the command itself runs perfectly fine from xterm, just not when trying to open a new xterm.

If anyone has any advice I would be very happy as this is the last problem I have before I can release the new version.

You can try something like this:

osso-xterm -e "sh path/to/script-with-comand"

That's what I've been using. I think I have sorted it now anyway.

Just trying to get it to recognise the damn environment variables and then I'll upload

fAircrack v0.3 is ready! Here is what is different:

> Decrypt tab is now split in to sections for easier navigation.
> Fixed bug where you have to press the enable/disable injection buttons twice for them to work.
> Introduced basic integration with John the Ripper!

I have posted some updated screen-shots so take a look.

Update instructions:
Make sure you install John from the extras-devel repos using the following command as root: "apt-get install john". You will also need to extract the new tar into your FAS directory and overwrite any old files.

John The Ripper:
At the moment, I have only included basic support for John. There are a few limitations. Firstly, at the moment it can only break passkeys that are 8 characters long (90% of WPA keys are). Secondly you can only choose either letter, numbers or both, but no special characters yet.

Please remember that it's about 3.30am here and I have JUST finished it. I don't see any problems but if something isn't working just post here and I will have a look in the morning.

Usage:
To use John just navigate to the Decrypt tab and then click WPA. Now select the cap that you have captured a handshake for, choose your John settings (numbers/letters) then make sure you have highlighted the "John" button above the "Decrypt" button.

Please note that this is more proof of concept than anything else, and please read through the WPA section of the FAQs if you haven't already.

john integration was working fine, and it was managing to do around 68-69 keys per second on a newly captured WPA2 handshake ;)

Hey excelent work man.....

i love this device man... No matter what people say..

Nokia has made a beast traped in a mobile casing...

and guys like u are helping to unleash it....

I am saying in a cool way not a bad ways... :D

okey dude... the icon problem still exists...

the icon does appear in the menu... but when i clock it..

the background of the icon lights up and nothing, no windows opening or closing , no nothing i open any other app that opens but the icon dosen't work....

and the versoin 3.0 is BOOMMMM...

and the icon works perfectly....
