I believe i'm using the correct driver which came from here.

And the instructions i followed were from here.

Question: under access point tab of faircrack v0.3, what is the plus and the minus for? is this to change the channel which you trying to scan? Doesn't seem to make any difference when i change it...

Windows7: Its to increase or decrease the time of scanning for WEPs or WPAs.

I think it auto scans channels doesnt it, ive seen channel 1 6 and 11 on mine when im trying it.

i still use faircrack for monitor mode en/disable and load/unloading the p.i. drivers, but this app on easy debian is sweet.

What I do is SSH (scp) the capture file for WPA to my home desktop (port forward on your router so you can do this anywhere you have Internet), and let it do its thing. It's a very beefy desktop running Ubuntu, so it at least gets weak passwords (a.k.a. "password" lol) in a reasonable amount of time.

You should try a solution like this, where the capturing is done on your device and the cracking is done on a computer elsewhere. Mobile hardware just doesn't match up with a quad-core Core-i5 w/ 4GB RAM.

WEP captures are easy enough to do all on the device, though. With 30,000+ IV's I think it maybe takes 5 minutes for me, overclocked to 900MHz. Sometimes longer.

Are you trying to use the PC to crack, or the N900? Or using the N900, but controlling it from the PC (SSH)?

Not sure i was reading the guys reply above to me he was saying he uses the PC to do the cracking just wondering how he is doing it.. I can crack wep fine from the N900. But WPA alot harder

Pretty sure he just copies the capture files over to his desktop then runs aircrack on the desktop with the capture files or something.

Okay i see he ssh the capture file for the wpa then uses the pc to crack it but i just need to know how he is doing it via terminal on ubuntu i take it but whats the command or is there an aircrack app for ubuntu

He will probably have aircrack-ng on his home comp or John the Ripper. There are quite a few out there for this sort of thing.

Seems you can compile aircrack with CUDA support- GPU accelerated cracking (for nvidia cards that support CUDA, anyway).

Help me. .. my n900 can't see certain wireless available in my home..is it router problem or what? i've full reflash my device but still not working..

yup..even i'm standing right beside the router still can't see it...but my n900 can see my neighbour wifi..:confused: confused..!! when i tried using Nokia E71 and my laptop the wifi is show up with excellent strenght.. But why my n900 can't see it?? :( is it caused by aircrack-ng,power kernel or something that related with software i've installed before ??? now my device is clean without any application installed after twice full reflash...:mad: help me guys.. :( No wifi no fun :(:(:(:(:(

are u planing on hacking your own connection or u just wanna connect it to you router as a normal connection???

if u planing to hacked you own connection make sure at the monitor tap u enable the monitor mode first in the apps.....
if u planing to just make a connection then disable the monitor mode on the monitor tap in the apps....

Sorry for the late reply. On your Ubuntu (or other *nix) box:
-Install OpenSSH
-Port forward TCP port 22 on your router to the box
-Set the computer's IP address to a static IP outside of your DHCP range

Then, pick the .cap file that exists in ~/MyDocs/FAS/cap/WPA

The command on your N900 would be:
scp ~/MyDocs/FAS/cap/WPA/some_network.cap [username]@[external_IP_Address]:~/Desktop

That puts it on the Desktop of your linux box. Then, I use aircrack-ng with the "-w" option for a wordlist. I have been making my own wordlists but that's because I know the "2Wire" networks in my area just use numbers and are a certain length long. You would want to do how fAircrack does it and send the output of John The Ripper or something as the input to aircrack-ng.

Hi Guys,

Thanks to FRuMMaGe for all his efforts!

Can someone help me, I have a WEP WLAN, I keep getting de-authentication messages when attempting to authenticate, using the packet capture window I can identify a station that is connected to the router, then I change my MAC, but I still get the same de-authentication messages, so the problem isn't MAC address filtering, any ideas/help would be appreciated.

There are also precomputed cowpatty hash tables for essid 2WIRExxx (among others). Tables are about 172000 keys long.

Hello. First thanks for this great app (GUI) !
I am able to see my neighbors' wifi, but not mine. I changed mine to wep so I can test this, but I can not find it! :( I can find it if I search normally but not through the app, and I turned everything on like I am supposed to ( I know because I can find others' wifi). Does anybody have an idea for me? Thanks!

Thank you for this, i have a few questions.

In the interface i press the "enable" Monitor Mode button in Monitor and "Enable" for Injection but they are not selected. Assume they have been pressed i go to "Access Point". I scan but nothing is picked up.

Im sure the bleedingedge drivers installed properly but maybe they didnt?

A BIG Thank You FRuMMaGe for the great app and of course to lxp for his hard work to make this happen (wish I can donate but I am broke at the mom. I promise I will when back on my feet).
Few thinks I encounter when playing with it
1. in decrypt under dictionaries I see u have an all.lst & sky.txt something I don’t is just me or somebody else have same problem (or maybe I fgot to load something during installation)
2. after scanning for networks (wep & wpa), happen only with some of them even I have a strong signal when click on it nothing happen (ex. No netw. Info in the white window and if I click on start packet capture nothing happens) again is just me or someone else have the same problem.
3. I read somewhere (can’t remember where) you mentioned for wpa you can force a mac to disconnect, for a quicker handshake, how do you do it, or will be great if you can add a button with a window where we can enter the desire mac on the future release. (correct me if I am wrong pls. but as far as I know no 2 mac can be on the same netw. At the same time)
Also a few small thinks I can see the key in the small window but I can not copy & paste from it (you have to open the .txt file to do so or remember the key) so will be much easy if this can be possible on a future release. After I installed another app (was a game) faircrack did not worked, I had to reboot then everything was fine. I read some people ha d problems after using the app they could not get the wifi working because they forgot to switch back to manager mode, I have installed an ap wifi switcher if you click on it will start stop your wifi hopefully this will solve the problem much easier for some. The rest as far as played with it worked great for me on some networks more than others (of course with the netw. Owners permission) more or less wep got decrypted in around 8 min. from start to finish if the signal was over 20%, on some routers did not work at all (I think b cos the settings on it,), about the wpa I only tried ones on my network could not get the handshake at the start but that was b cos the settings on the router ex. If you reserve the ip address even if you disconnect and reconnect will not work I believe to get a handshake the settings on d device has to be set to obtain an automatic ip address from the router after I did that I got a handshake, left the n900 over night to work on d key with no success after 11:45hrs (the key is 26 digit long alphanumeric), again thanks for the great app., will let you know if I will run into something else.
