The Finnish newspapers and technology sites are actually the worst. In need of advertising clicks they are nowdays using very provocative headlines about Nokia. There's shock news every day, always something bad happening at Nokia.

Anyway given the comments about Nokia moving to the US I wonder if worrying about WP7 as a future OS is now the least of the issues?

Thats right, I have been thinking the combo to work with MeeGo only! And for the time-to-market part, if they are able to do it by 2nd quarter, then that should be ok. And anything before it, that would be great!

Again, all this could all be just wishful thinking!

I am not sure on the Nokia HQ moving to the US thing. Is it from credible sources? I seriously doubt it! That move sounds so lame!

Many people dismissed that rumor right away. There is so much build around Nokia HQ (and as a whole in Finland for Nokia) and Finland itself lets many thing go past when we talk about Nokia. They would not get the special treatment in USA. There's USA HQ that got just ready this week(that could never be enough the be Nokia's base) and i think somebody just got confused. Though some kind of special software HQ that's rumored sounds something that could happen.

And anyways board of directors is almost all finns and you need them to make the HQ change happen.

Really? They have enough trouble right now supporting just one OS.

There is already talk of a big cull of the present board being announced on Friday?

Could Alien Dalvik be the "ecosystem" Elop was referring to leading to Meego running Android apps.

If not this could be a bigger talking point for Nokia than Friday's announcement by Elop?

There is talk about changes for execs, but board of directors isn't going anywhere, actually just two weeks ago got even more finns added to it. Plus Ollila leads it.

Correct. It will NEVER happen. Not over Monkey Boy Ballmer's dead, cold body. M$ will always consider Linux to be a disease.

Very refreshing from Elop, it's everything we've been saying for years. Bringing a fresh pair of eyes from outside the company may prove to be a exactly what the company needed.

However it's one thing to identify the problems, and it's a huge first step to the good, but ofcourse it's another thing to successfully fix them - so let's hope Elop can identify the right people to lead a resurgent Nokia. The fightback really must start now.

Oh boy... cannot wait for the Nokia faithful to read that and go up in arms.

It's gonna get ugly.

And for the record, I agree with it all. There hasn't been as much of a decline - the market grew, their sales barely did, everybody else's (especially Android) grew like no other. And the prospect of only one MeeGo device by the end of 2011!? Wow.
