It seems that when in taskmanager view, I can not see whom the status message belongs.
Status message window has title like "Online" and below there is nolthing written. But when when that status message came as alert then there was also the person name whom it belongs.

Hm, just tested. I can see the contact name and an icon.
For what im-services does this happen?

I'm using Skype and MSN (Pecan) at the same time.
And it seems that if Skype contact is coming online it is ok, but when there is skype and msn contact status messages at the same time, then it does not show.
Or it does not show when there are more than 6 windows open (icon pushes text out of window), just a thought :)
Because I saw contact information on skype notification when there was excactly 6 windows open and then arrived one msn notification (7 windows now) and contact information was not visible on both.

I think you are right. With more than 6 windows the
name isn't visible anymore.

i tried it alot nicolai and its not working, many times my contacts are logging in and i found out by clicking "new IM" and not by the notifier

Hi thanks Nicolai for the app i was looking for!

I use skype+gtalk+msn+yahoo+SIP+jabber and everything works.

Now I would like to turn OFF all messages and instead create an log-file with ALL the status changes so i can check later that someone was online+protocol. Is that a possibility for the future or will a daemon like that suck the battery dry quickly?

Friendstatus logs the status messages, but only
status messages and not status changes.

AFAIK friendstatus only logs status when the app running (and there's no way to run it as daemon)
would be nice if this app can also log status changes to file, just like what pidgin does with its system log

I have some new ideas:

1. What about a bubble pop-up message for specific contacts? As in: not for all contacts. This must be a bit hard to code, i suppose.

2. How to set the time value in the presence_notifier.txt logfile to simply 24 hrs instead of am/pm ? My n900 is set to 24 hrs, but the logfile stays in am/pm
