i have also tried different numbers to see if the problem was with the specific number. Also tried reboot and no issues sending texts the usual way

I'm not really sure what else could be wrong. You could try using the smssend command in the terminal to send a message, and see if that works, since that is what I am using:

/usr/bin/smssend -s -n NUMBERHERE -m MESSAGE

I am working on a new version that won't have smssend as a dependency, which may fix your problem.

Did that as it failed again. i even tried uninstalling and then reinstalling

Yeah, that's my guess if you tried manually entering the smssend command into the terminal as root, and it still didn't work.

I am working on the new version, I am just trying to figure out the sms flash support right now. Hopefully I can finish it today - I'll let you know.

It is called a flash sms message. It makes the message show up differently on the device you send it to. Try googling it for more details.
