Wiki quote: "Flash always the FIASCO image first and after that immediately the latest available eMMC image, if needed. Never flash/reflash the eMMC content after you bootup the device. Reason: All the optified content that is moved from rootfs to eMMC will be lost. The eMMC image does not need to be flashed every time when a new FIASCO image is flashed. Flashing the eMMC image also overwrites all data from the internal memory card. (Notice this recommendation has changed to rootfs first, then eMMC. Except for Nokia's download page, where the comment is still wrong on that) " |
Re: Something I can call weird is happening...
The only thing i can think of is you got a corrupt .bin file so you might want to try and download both images again and try the cold flash routine.
If after that it still fails then i suggest you go to another pc running xp and try with that, failing that you have no choice but to go to Nokia care.... IF they still exist that is lol. GOOD LUCK ANYHOW cos this is irritating me lol |

Oh and take out the -r to stop the device from starting up after the first flash. |
Re: Something I can call weird is happening...
If it is not a usb problem then he is obviously doing something wrong and that could be anyones guess lol (especially after 82 flashes).
NB I nominate this to be the most times anyone in this world has flashed without success !!!. But anyhow my heart goes out to the poor sod lol. |
Re: Something I can call weird is happening...
Another possibility I thought of:
You could try creating a bootable CD that will start up a gparted(linux) session on your pc. This will let you see all hard disks connected, including all your n900s partitions. There is an option in there to click on a partition and check for errors/fix it. Once done just take the CD out and reboot to start the PC normally. With any luck any error on the disk might have been fixed and then flashing will work. I used a gparted CD to repartition MyDocs and /Home Will try and find all the info and where I ggot it from if you can't find it. |
Re: Something I can call weird is happening...
unbelieveable! 50 posts of pure BS...
And abill the order of flashing comes straight from the guys who wrote flasher utility etc so I'd trust them, unlike you. |

Okay here are the results after fiddling around:
1. Grabbed new images of Fiasco and eMMC 2. Cold Flashed my N900 (Hardware Revision:2204) 3. Flashing successful 4. Booted up with fingers crossed 5. Absolutely nothing happened 6. I give up 7. I'm gonna use this N900 as spare parts 8. Thanks for all the help you folks gave me 9. If in case I didn't return to talk.maemo.org, that means I'm with an ATRIX 10. It was a pleasure being part of this wonderful community. |
Re: Something I can call weird is happening...
Congratulations, you ran your N900 into the ground.
Did you not let it charge and come back to it later like I suggested? 82 reflashes and this after removing conky is completely and totally abnormal. I'm marking this one up as PEBCAK. |
