is there any way to autoinstall missing packages?

hello,
i'm stuck with my n900 for long time, 90% of software is not working due to missing packages like python etc.. i can't even find them in application manager - maybe they are under diffrent names but this is really driving me crazy..

on instance, i want to use bluemaemo with my pc - the thing is i can't even install it due to missing python2.5 and few other files.. is there a way to 'autoget' these files?
thanks in advance!

Re: is there any way to autoinstall missing packages?

you might try

apt-get install -f

it may help

Incidentally, I noticed you can get a handy guide to using apt-get with the command apt-get help.

bro, backup without application list and settings, reflash and install bluemaemo. HAM won't allow you to install conflicting apps (i think). i was **** scred of reflashing, but got around to how useful it is whe i screw things up...hope you find this helpful.

Re: is there any way to autoinstall missing packages?

gosh, i almost gave up and then i found this:

http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=610

this has just worked for me, i can see the application icon in the menu now, now just have to reinstall bluetooth drivers on pc and see if it works..

i think everyone will agree that maemo is way more troublemaker than symbian :P

edit: the program has worked few times, i had to enable HID in my bluetooth pc, but now.. it stopped. i can't move my mouse, i can't type on keyboard. what the hell? restart doesn't work.. gosh! it just stopped working! i didn't change anything..

It's more about how you use it. For example desperately installing stuff from extras-devel is guaranteed to cause troubles.

Re: is there any way to autoinstall missing packages?

solved, after each bluemaemo start u have to manually enable hid on the pc..
