Customize N900 Conversations

i know this topic has already been discussed in detail but for a noob it's really hard to go thru above 80 pages .
so please can any one help me customizing conversation ?

The modified files are to be placed in (/usr/share/rtcom-messaging-ui/html/)

Someone wrote a quick script on this page http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=36618&page=81 that puts the downloaded files in their correct place just follow his instructions their pretty straightforward

That is why you have to create a backup so that you can restore it when u want the original look back. This can also be done with the script.

Alternatively, if u have not created a backup, the wiki has a link to a copy of the original files.

Create a pic of 60x60 pixels. Then rename it as avatar.png.
To move to to the folder, use the command:

no such file or directory :(

i have croped the pic 60x60 and the saved it as jpg and then renamed in my n900 as avatar.png and used the command and it is saying no such file or directory .
have i gone wrong ?

i have resized it and done the same and it is still giving the same error.

create the png file by saving it as a png file on your pc.

then, connect in mass staorage mode and transfer it to your device. if you send via bt, it will save as a jpg.

save the file in the n900 folder (or whatever you named your bluetooth...mine is called n9hundred.

thee open xterm
sudo gainroot
cd MyDocs
mv avatar.png /usr/share/rtcom-messaging-ui/html/

guys please, im a complete noob, just tell me, i open x-terminal in sudo gainroot, then i type in /usr/share/rtcom-messaging-ui/html/ and it says permission denied. i have the bubble theme unzipped in MyDocs named Nokia N900. what do i do now?

cp is for copying files
cd is for changing current directory.

So use cp to copy files
