gizmo5 closing. googleVoice -> gizmo SIP alternative?
Just got an email from Gizmo5 that the service will be shutdown next month.
I've been using it for total free calls using GoogleVoice forwarding to Gizmo5 number. Is there another SIP that's free and reliable which accepts incoming calls for free and provides a US number? This setup worked so flawlessly on the n900 |

Sipgate works for me. Incoming calls are free, outgoing is pretty cheap. Alternative is an incoming skype number. Again, not free, but pretty cheap.

sipgate is not accepting new users. Skype would be $8/month for line+service, from what I understand.

Also. a skype-in number is $6 a month and even less if you buy a subscription. |

it says not accepting new users "in my area". maybe i'll try again with onion router?

I always had trouble with bad latency on sipgate calls. Did you have similar issues?
I might end up setting an asterisk server and use google talk (I use gizmo5 right now). |
Re: gizmo5 closing. googleVoice -> gizmo SIP alternative?
I just tried creating another account and I got this. Looks like a lot of gizmo5 folks are moving to sipgate?
