apt-get -f

every time i run apt-get -f install , it asks to remove mp-fremantle-community-pr and status-area-orientationlock-applet .
and i know if i'll remove them the CSSU wont work properly.
i have recently installed reverstris lite and it requires to run apt-get -f command and as usuall it is asking me to remove the above mentioned :$
and i dont want to remove them :$

Re: apt-get -f

Hey, you could try aptitude. Aptitude for N900 isn't stable but it could work. It tries to solve the dependencies more "intelligent".
For me reverstris + cssu just works!

btw. what dependencies are missing?
Maybee they are only avaiable in extras-testen/devel?

Re: apt-get -f

Yeah,
but it is in extras-devel. Could be a bad Idea...

How about poste the output of
Code:

apt-get -f install
?

Re: apt-get -f

Just run:
"apt-get install libgles1-sgx-img"
and revetris should work.

Yes - hopefully that'll clear up why it's trying to auto-remove it (or at least prevent it from doing so).

Re: apt-get -f

hildon-desktop_kinetic_2.2.140-1+0m5 , is it the latest version of hildon-desktop ?

philheaton 2011-04-01 11:23

Re: apt-get -f

Check if you have hildon-desktop pinned in /etc/apt/preferences. If you do, delete the file and try again. If not, just let apt do its thing and reinstall cssu after its finished.

Not from CSSU, no - that's 2.2.142.

philheaton 2011-04-01 11:33

Re: apt-get -f

you need to remove the modified-hildon-desktop that MaeModder installed. It doesn't play nice with CSSU.

The latest hildon-desktop is included with CSSU (and is in the CSSU repository). This doesn't (yet) have all of the features of the different modified versions, but does have quite a few. Hopefully the rest will be coming in a future release.

That depends on what the problem it reports is. If you post the actual text of the reported problem then perhaps someone can help.
