There is a bug in my code. :/ Videos will play if you launch from within the video info screen, but not if you launch via the long-press dialog. I'll fix it and update soon. :)

@marxian: now that you've moved to using QML for cutetube, is it possible to use on the desktop?
I had tried it with the non-QML cutetube, but there were so many Maemo specific things I had to change that I eventually gave up on it.

Confirmed, works like a charm (again) when launching from within info screen...guess it stopped working when I discovered the long-press dialog :D

Seem to have some problems with search. All searches return results, but only the first one overall will actually go to the video page if you select the item. All the others return a blank page.

For example, I type as my first search term "Mario". It returns a list of videos and I select one and it displays the page. I next type in "Super Mario Galaxy" and it correctly returns a list. But, if I select one of the videos it just gives me a blank screen.

If I close and reopen the application, only that first search term ("Mario" in this case) will work correctly.

Fluid nice UI. Going to give detailed feedback when I have time.

Still had to agree with cjp on that external player (kmplayer or media player) beats old cutetubes player. Faster buffering, faster skipping, better UI and actually sometimes faster loading. IIRC I requested that these would be readded to old cutetube.

Marxian! What happens to the cover flow feature?... and is there any way that the white bold frame around the video thumnail be reduced to a thinner gray frame...It'll look much better IMO. something like image below

Yep. That's it then. I tried long press all the first times, then it worked when I tried from info screen.

I miss 1 feature from the old cutetube:
when you search for something, and you made a typo, you need to enter the whole text again instead of just picking the old search and change the typo. :(

k, played some more with this awesome app and have some suggestions:

1) Search and download buttons are a bit small, why not place them at the bottom in line with menu and exit/back or simply somewhat bigger?
2) When starting a search it says "No Videos found" before search indicator appears, somewhat irritating, but no biggy (same applies to "related" in video info screen)
3) While I like usage of media player and its performance I would prefer video playback from within cuteTube windows itself
4) Guess the occasional crashes will be fixed with future versions ;-)

Please keep going with your great work :-)

I'll be using it on Symbian^3 and Meego, but I'm awaiting a bug fix before I can use it for the Maemo version.

I can change that easily enough. :) I just thought that it may be more convenient to launch the search upon selecting it.

Ok so first of all, gotta say, an awesome remake of Cutetube!! Marxian, u r a godsend!!
I played with the app a lil bit, and the only things that i found uptil now in my few mins of testing is something that has been mentioned b4, which is:
My Channel features (subscriptions, uploads, favorites..) DONOT work!!!

...other than that, works great, and the new UI looks awesome!!! THANK YOU! :)

This app looks great so far.
I only just noticed you can swipe to move across through the information tabs for a video. Cool.

I can't get my subs yet, logged in with normal youtube account not gmail, although they are linked I think. When marxian gets around to tweaking this it will be the best app on the device.

I have both the accounts merged, hence they have the same password and for the login name, I use my Youtube username.
