I'm new here, but I have wanted to help.

I bring to Thomson UI Keys, key recovery for Thomson modems.
I hope you like it.

Re: Thomson Keys UI

Is this a GUI for stkeys (which is in extras devel)?

casper27 2011-04-11 17:19

Re: Thomson Keys UI

Sounds interesting, whats it do exactly? Could we get some screenshots.

Re: Thomson Keys UI

It is possible to generate the default wlan password for speedtouch routers from the default ssid. This is what stkeys does on the CLI. This seems to be the same with a GUI.

Re: Thomson Keys UI

Does this work with the injected wifi drivers? It seems that it doesn't search for Wireless networks... (keeps saying 0 networks found)

Edit: You should change your thread title into "[ANNOUNCE] Thomson Keys UI"

I already have the latest version...
Going to install python-wifi (you should add that as a dependency)

Edit: seems like when I installed the .deb, it didn't install the package python-wifi... Installed this later on and that did the job :)

Re: Thomson Keys UI

Got another problem:
When I want to try to solve the key, it just says "invalid network"
(It's just a default Thomson SSID like: "ThomsonXXXXXX" )

Also, when you enter the SSID manually, the button "Insert" doesn't work :p
(Only pressing enter works)

Thanks for the update, but there seems to be a problem, when I click on Get Key(s), it just says: This may take several minutes...
Please wait...
And thats all, even if you wait 30 minutes, it doesn't do anything :(
Hope this can be fixed

By the way, it's a bit annoying that the app always starts on the About screen :(

this command is the one to get de keys, is compiled in c, because is faster than python

the "-i 111111" is the last 6 digits of the ssid
the "-s 04" is the year to start to search 04 = 2004
and the "-e 04" is the year to end de search 05 = 2005

I had this problem for a bad compilation.

are you downloaded it from the repository or from the garage?

if you downloaded from repository, please remove it and download from garage the last version:
thomsonkeys_1.0.1-3_all.deb

if you downloaded from garage, tell me what processor you have?
in my phone it work well.

sorry for the inconvenience, I'm new

but your application is working?

remember, the app gets the default key of the router, if someone change the default key, you can't use the router

maybe because the app suport only these routers:
DMAX,Bbox,cyta,Orange,Thomson,INFINITUM,Speedtouch

and syntax:
DMAX111111,Bbox111111,cyta111111,Orange111111,Thomson111111,INFINITUM111111,Speedtouch111111

remember it need to have 6 digits after the name supported
these networks are valid

One thing to ask:
Can you please change the way the app starts? :(
Everytime when I start it, it just shows the about screen first....

it's very annoying.... :(

Other then that, its working nicely :D
maybe some "progress bar" could be also good :P so you will see that it's not just crashed

in the next update I promise change it...

and the progress bar, I'll try, but do not promise anythingm, because I had trouble communicating C with python

Re: Thomson Keys UI

This app is based on the GNUCitizen implementation of a algo calculating a WEP key based on Thomson based default ESSID. This will not sniff a WEP key from WIFI packets. Its mostly useless for the USA as most WIFI DSL providers offer TI modems usually. This app will work in Puerto Rico and most places in Wetern Europe. Also called STKeys in its base form.
Android also has these apps , Penetrate and Router KeyGen, although these were pulled out recenlty from the Market.

It seems to freeze , I guess the algo is not streamlined and these calculation , although its not math intensive, it hogs a lot a memory for variable matching.

Penetrate and Router KeyGen are much fasterm because they are based on a fixed database downloaded with the app. penetrate has a 45Mb db file and Router Keygen has a 28 Mb db file.
As Router Keygen is in the Google Code area, Diego should consider using the 28Mb db file to help his app.

You can also reduce the year search span in this app to avoid freezing. Until now it works very well where I live in PR.
