cheers

edit: or should i just reinstall nitdroid kernel?
edit2: yes reinstalling kernel does the trick as it creates multiboot entry

That happened with me as well.
I just ran the dpkg -i command for the nitroid kernel, which I think re-installs it. Then you edit the multioot file as mentioned in the wiki.

That aside tho the work involved on this project has been awesome..so thanks to all involved.

My first main questions after a days use are
1. i have found that my webos game monopoly installed on maemo is being recognized as a list of audio tracks in the media player on nitdroid.
2. Wifi constantly switching off and going into scan mode which can only re-connect if you disable wifi and turn it back on via the serttings in droid.
3. i installed without my memory card in the phone....How do i get it to boot and recognize my mmc?
4. I have noticed that sometimes it does not go to dual boot and i have to remove battery to get this fuction back.

If anyone can shed some light or help with the issues i am having then many thanks.

I believe you have to edit the nitdroid boot file that is placed in /etc/multiboot.d/
Once you are there, ls to see what files you have for Nitdroid. It's name should start with 11. Edit that file as mentioned in the wiki. You will change the value mmcblk0p2 to mmcblk1p2. But check the wiki to be sure.

You said it yourself, "i have never used an android phone so my questions may be dumb!". Asking things that are written to wikis and have been discussed so many times is really annoying.

dears, please help!
I have followed this way to update nitdroid::

root
cd /home/user/MyDocs
bzip2 -d n11_rc3.tar.bz2
cd /
mount /home /and
rm -rf /and/*
cd /and
tar xvf /home/user/MyDocs/n11_rc3.tar.bz2
dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/NITDroid-kernel-Mido.Fayad.deb

the line tar xvf ... has not work and my phone has restarted...

I can start it but without any icons and graphics so itś unusable:-(

I have tried to use NSU and flasher but not successfully because the phone will not connect (only USB device is successfull so I can browse the phone from PC) but no chance to connect it in PC-suite mode so I canīt reflash:-(

if I used flasher, I have started my phone with pressed "u" but itīs not connect correctly probably. i can write flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R and I receive this answer:
flasher v.2.5.2. (some date)
RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin: %m

is there any chance of some hard reset?
how to continue? what to do to make my phone alive again?
please help
Miroslav

If you get this>>>> %m
It means that, you have not put your image in flasher folder or you have typed a wrong file name

Hi!

Usually flash fails because one has mispelled .
Try again!
Good luck.

Re: [Release] Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 -- N11 "Vostok"

I've been wanting to try N11 and can't seem to get it to play nicely.

I've had no troubles with previous versions 0.09 and gingerbread.

So I downloaded the new N11 tar.bz2 file and the suggested kernel and got the system to boot ok but during the boot process I get this:

smia-sensor 2-0010: firmware: requesting smia-sensor-01-022b-04.bin
smia-sensor 2-0010: : can't load
et8ek8 3-003e: firmware: requesting et8ek8-0002.bin
et8ek8 3-003e: firmware: can't load

I'm wondering whether these modules are important?

Also, I get random lockups when the UI is loading. I have removed as much as I can see settings relating to Nitsroid from my Mydocs.

the method i used was:

....i then edited the leafpad file to change the values from mmcblk0p2 to mmcblk1p2

all looked ok but after the sd card was scanned it did not show my albums/songs that are on the card....all it shows is the sfx and snd files from the monoploly game.

i have tried a few restarts but still no joy.

many thaks for the advice tho.

any suggestions on what could be the problem?

rm -rf /and/*
I never use that command when I uninstall the nitdroid, I just manual delete the folder and file in home directory

uninstall is easy, just remove multiboot, multiboot-kernel-maemo, multiboot-kernel-power, also the kernel of nitdroid
You can use faster application manager to do that, after remove just apt-get install --reinstall kernel-power kernel-power-flasher
then reboot, then you will have the rootfs space more

Finally, go to /home, delete the folder and file that nitdroid belongs to.
P.S opt and user folder is your maemo file, never delete it

First of all! I want to say thank you to the developer team of nitdroid! i downloaded the latest version and it works almost perfectly.

I'm really excited to install a full phone supporting version of nitdroid.

SMS recieving - works!
sms sending - not sure.

and even Phone Calling works, with the last small issue - The Voice just works in one direction :-D the other one can hear me but i can't here him

so keep on developing :)

Hi!
To swap knowledge is important.
Transparency is the real power of n900.
For example Samsung galaxy:s latest OS is android 2.3.3 as n900:s.
N900:s progress shows how small group can make wonders.

I think I had the same problem with my nitdroid neotalk. I installed nitdroid on the emmc so nitdroid considers /home/user/MyDocs/ as my SD card, but the standard media player also does not recognize files that are in there, it looks almost as if it just skips the .sound folder (which is where my music albums are). For me the solution was to simply search for another music player. I tried a few, and finally I ran into an app called Meridian which allowed me to select which folders I want to use, so I use that for now.

By the way, you stated you also had a problem with multiboot sometimes not showing up when rebooting? I also had this issue, and noticed that if you slide your N900 open while rebooting, multiboot will always show up.

Hope that helps, cheers!

e-yes,ammyt,and everyone else who was supportive and helpful on this forum, thank you very much for helping us. NiTDroid11 is just awesome. it is much faster than gingerbread i previously had. Though i had to reflash my device due to few mess up with deleting the old android port, i am pretty happy it yielded the fruit.

Just one question at the end. Am i the only one who doesn't see facebook or twitter apps in NITDroid11?.

I tried to install Astro by the following method

sudo gainroot
mount /and to mmc
copy astro file to /and/system/app
umount /and
restart phone to NITDROID
but I still can not See any file manager. Please help
