Ping Stevie.

Eventually it is possible to create a new manifest on another path
i.e. from http://downloads.nitdroid.com/nitins...droid.manifest to http://downloads.nitdroid.com/e-yes/nitdroid.manifest

Then it is sufficient to release an updated version of nitdroid-installer_0.2.7_armel.deb (i.e nitdroid-installer_0.2.7.1_armel.deb or nitdroid-installer_0.2.8_armel.deb) which points to new address.
The new version can be stored always in http://downloads.nitdroid.com/e-yes

I have realised a version which takes manifest from local path (.nitdroid directory) so it is not necessary to have manifest on internet, but if you hold it on your site, you have a centralized control point for all installations (at least for installations made by Nitdroid installer) and you will can update manifest when new patches are released

Is it ok to quote myself? :D

Just to update, If you install tCallblocking app ( in Android) it will divert all calls automatically to an alternative mobile...works very well and no need to reject the call.

Re: [Release] Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 -- N11 "Vostok"

Nitdroit 0.11 Vostok installed properly on sd card and working flawlessly with Wifi connection.

Installed Market fix. First boot into Nitdroid resulted in a sudden reboot before proper initializing.

Second reboot and Nitdroid started properly.

Now Market application doesn't start (so I can't apply market fix tutorial). A message saying there is no proper connection to network appears in screen and Market won't start, but other applications (Browser, Maps ...) can connect to Internet properly with Wifi on.

How can I debug the problem? Any useful logs that I could provide?

will be possible to use nitdroid-installer to install N11 Vostok (on MicroSD)

Sorry but i don't understand, so i will have to modify the code for the kernel?

Why Kernel ?

Nitdroid-Installer is a deb package that automatically installs Nitdroid on MicroSD.

It is configurable and actually it is configured to install Nitdroid 0.0.8 (which I think noone will use anymore).
The code I have attached in previous post is the configuration to install N11 Vostok instead.

Unfortunately this configuration in written on a file on nidtroid site and it is not not updatable by us (readonly).
We can only change (a very simple change) nitdroid-installer to read configuration file from local disk instead from internet

Re: [Release] Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 -- N11 "Vostok"

Hope this isn't too thick sounding a question, but here goes:

Everyone is talking about the new market fix for N11 as it didn't work before. I'm not too bothered because applanet is available, but if there is a fix then why not get it., right?

So I cannot find any update files to download, so it must be either the 'old' market fix method now works, OR a new installation of Nitdroid is required over the previous N11? Can this information please be added to the first page, or to the wiki or something.

Looking at the wiki suggests the 'old' market fix should do the trick on the N11 that I installed (the one where the market previously wasn't working) The file name looks the same for the install tar file and the method looks the same. So what has changed to make the market now work? If it is an extra file to download I am not finding it on any searches. If the fix is to re-download N11 which now has a market fix included, it doesn't say that either. It just says there is a fix and market fix now works.....

Sorry. I can see I am babbling on now and I just wanted to ask the question. It's late here and I am low on sleep. I just hope someone has a simple answer for me please.

ps excellent job on nitdroid. Some parts of bbc iplayer website were playing flash10 stuff for me earlier and the browser was zooming, looked as good as microb plus some sites worked better.

EDIT: Finally found the market fix tar file after yet another search this morning. It was in a really obscure reference to a place to download some of e-yes's stuff that lead me to it. That was on google, not on here.

It's really not very well signposted at all.

Re: [Release] Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 -- N11 "Vostok"

I have market icon in my desktop, when i click it says ""Application is not installed on your phone". I already applied market fix , anybody please help me. Thanks.

Re: [Release] Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 -- N11 "Vostok"

That's exadctly what I am getting too after just applying fix. Restarted nitdroid but same thing. If you looked at all applications under settings it shows market as being there but it is greyed out. There is no way to apply the 'old' market fix without first starting the market is there?
EDIT: After some testing I believe the problem may be related to syncing. I haven't been able to get this thing to sync at all yet since applying the market fix and I believe that once this process can start then the market stuff might update itself on the system.
Of course I could just be being totally *****ic lol. I'll keep going down this path and see what happens....

kyllerbuzcut 2011-04-23 11:26

Re: [Release] Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 -- N11 "Vostok"

UPDATE: It definitely wont sync now. Even got a thing that tells it to 'sync now' and nothing else I've tried will do it either. I hope someone has an idea on how to make the sync run somehow, (it's probably really simple, but when you don't have the know-how the simple can become hard).
My theory is that the market wont start until it knows your details. It wont know your details until you have 'synced in' to google. Therefore, Gmail, contacts, and messaging wont work either. Probably other stuff too.
Feel free to call me a numpty and tell me to 'just press button x and that will do it'. :) Hope someone knows what x is.

I'm unable to play any xvid AVI files that I was able to before in previous versions.
Tried vplayer, rockplayer, vitalplayer etc in both hw and sw decoding modes.

Anyone has video playback working?

ok..I have a few questions since trying this out.. i removed it because it cluttered up my files.. is it possible to N11 on it's own partition say like a 5 gig or so .. and will the multi-boot pick it up...ty

Re: [Release] Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 -- N11 "Vostok"

I'm sorry if this has been discussed already... as you know this thread is very long to browse.

Each time I suspend nitdroid by pressing the power button, the wifi connection is suspended too. But when i restore pressing power button again, wifi connection is not automatically restored. I have to kill wifi and re-enable it.

Is it normal? Thanks

Yes it is possible. I have mine on a seperate partition. You need to either re-flash your device with a custom image or create a linux g-parted bootable CD, boot it up and resize to your hearts content WITHOUT loosing data or needing to reflash.

Nitdroid still stores some data on your /home directory though whether you put it on sd or a sepaarate partition

don't know if it's normal but i have the same issue and have to kill wifi as it goes into scaning mode, then re-enable it. Seems to happen if phone is idle for some time.

Re: [Release] Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 -- N11 "Vostok"

I think this is just a general annoyance of android in general. My wife has an android and it does stupid stuff all the time. This is one of them it does. It gets annoying after a while and I'm glad there is always maemo to go back to:)

PS anyone else got sync to work, or can confirm it doesn't work?

you dont have problem with the marketplace?

kyllerbuzcut 2011-04-24 18:50

Re: [Release] Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 -- N11 "Vostok"

I think akry is probably talking about what happens before you apply the market fix. The market would open but would be blank. After this new market fix file android wont sync so I think that's why it wont open now.

Re: [Release] Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 -- N11 "Vostok"

Hi people,
some tips after "hard way" to understanding instalation:
1. install nitdroid from repos - will be 0.0.8. check that work. do not install anything from market.
2. upgrade it to 0.0.9 - check it works. do not install anything from market.
3. upgrade to vostok n11 - check it works. do not install anything from market.
4. install market fix. NOW GO AND INSTALL ANY ANDROID APP.

I stopped at "3", I installs apps. after market "unjail" I was unable to install any thing that I find in "opened"" market. So, do step "4".
all the things on http://nitdroid.de

I have worked all but the:
1. sending sms (recieve works)
2. cellular voice
3. all sip/VoIP can be heard from speaker only
4. camera...

p.s.
NITdroid team - I want to make a T-SHORT with NITdroid's logo

Re: [Release] Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 -- N11 "Vostok"

just thought of a possile solution for those of us with market/google/sync problems. My wife has an app on her android phone called ROM manager. I've used it to help her install cyanogen plus changed the standard google apps to the tiny version(works much faster). Unfortunately I can't try it out until at least tomorrow but it's an idea I thought I could share in case anyone else wants to try right away. ROM Manager will be available on applanet and the gapps tiny (or whichever size you want) will be on the cyanogen website somewhere.

I too think a Nitdroid t-shirt would be cool.

EDIT: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.ph...on/Google_Apps

Link to all the gapps versions available on cyanogen. Am I right in thinking the HDPI one is right to work on n900? I'll try them all tomorrow anyway if no one else has done it by then.
good night:)

That's not the problem as I'm running a 6 gig..but i wanted to do a separate partition for nitdroid to run in but kyllerbuzcut kind of cleared it up as it won't do any good to add an extra partition if I'm still going to have nitdroid files mixed in with the maemo files ..

My Story Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 -- N11 "Vostok"

hey people. I just installed andriod gingerbread and everything was fine. Then I thought to reinstall power-kernel. But then I made some mistake that I realized after rebooting my phone. It said press any key to panic. so I reflashed n900 installed kernel power and multi boot. but now I dont see nitroid in boot menu. I only see meamo one single option. I still have nitroid on my mmc. can there be a very little tweak or something that I can get nitroid in my bootmenu without flashing and installing again. can my story have a happy ending?

ps. I know its soloution must be written somewhere but I find myself too dumb to exactly figure out that people are talking abt this problem or anything else. HEEEEEEEELP!!!!!!!!! please
