Something tells me the people who wrote the article are confused and the tablet most certainly will not run maemo. But that's just a hunch. Either way, I like the idea with the clip on keyboard :)

Re: A Tablet That Can Run 3 OS’s Android, Windows and Maemo (MeeGo)
That leg stand looks almost as safe as the N900 stand. Works a treat if you keep to the bottom - left corner of the screen. But hit the top right and your @rse - hole pouts as the thing goes flying across the desk.
Removeable keypads have always had that hint of uselessness. It only shows some use if you decide to take it off BEFORE you leave the house/office, otherwise you're still carrying it around with you. And if it's a touchscreen, why have they got a touchpad on the keyboard? Remove that and you have the potential to make the keyboard smaller, thus giving you the further potential to make it a slide - out keyboard. Just my little observations. :) |
Re: A Tablet That Can Run 3 OS’s Android, Windows and Maemo (MeeGo)
1. Too expensive for a tablet
2. Too heavy for a tablet 3. Slow user experience I could go on but these major points should be enough to get people to reconsider. |
Re: A Tablet That Can Run 3 OS’s Android, Windows and Maemo (MeeGo)
Maemo on Atom? X86.. Does not exist.... :p
But what if? I'd like to know where they found or how they built the maemo build. I'd love a copy!! Looks... Like an Archos clone. |

I owned one, still do, but get little use of it, it ran: - an lxde frontend (default) - mer - android - Win CE  you could triple boot it with a nice interface, boot from SD cards and the hardware was bearable but it was one device with a small user base, tiny community, and too many operating systems. None of them ended up that polished and while i spent many hours/days/weeks mucking about with it, but it NEVER became a useable tool like my N900 is. i may be wrong but beware the jack of all trades.... my 2 bits |

Maemo? lol I guess he meant MeeGO not maemo5. Maemo5 doesn't really support Intel by default. MeeGo does.

- Intel tax (Atoms are more expensive than Tegra2's) - Windows 7 OS tax - MS Office tax - SSD tax .... .... .... what you get is a half-baked gadget that isn't worth the cost. I mean I mean buy this and support Aussies :) |
Re: A Tablet That Can Run 3 OS’s Android, Windows and Maemo (MeeGo)
Lets cross our fingers that maemo is actually included. That will add some more applications for our n900 (compiling application for armel shouldn't be hard for devs).
