1 : i have successfully managed to get profile widgets on screen .

the problem is that every time i lock the screen it automatically turns the silent profile on :$

2 : echo "echo 600000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq" | sudo gainroot | echo ""
this is the script to have max frequ. as per your need .
i tried 900000 to 900mhz and 1000000 for 1ghz but 1ghz one didn't work . like no problems in creating it but in the working of .
everytime i press 1ghz beecon it did'nt change the frequency :$

will discuss more of them as i am exhausted right now , not being able to memorize :$

1 is because you probably have the settings wrong at the bottom. Make sure it says 'yes' only under 'click', not 'on desktop' or 'on startup' etc.

2) i think you have one too many zeros

hey guys im a noob at this qbw thing and i didnt put the " symbols in the command i was using for the beecon that would open up the phone app, so now everytime i just go to the desktop that the widget is on it opens the phone app without me pressing anybuttons. it also doesnt let me edit that specific desktop....does anyone know wats going on?

try deleting the beecon you have made , go to edit cmd , there you will fine delete button , delete that command and it will be deleted from your system .
and then try to make a new one with the right script .

problem solved ?
and yeah next time do remember to uncheck the update policy , always put yes only for click and rest on no .
if you dont know any thing about the widget , usually these options are mentioned under the script , that how to use them.

yes it is thank you....how do i get rid of the litle hexagon thing on my new widget?

eefo 2011-04-29 20:56

Re: QBW for the noobs

ok , you need to learn few things here.
first lemme know if you have found it or not.
go in the settings of the qbw and scrol down abit and you will see command title settings ?

eefo 2011-04-29 21:03

Re: QBW for the noobs

command title settings have two kind of settings.
the first one is for hexagon thing where it is writted queen-beecon.png and on the right side of it three buttons angle scale and position choose hidden from position and that hexagon will be vanished and the angle thingy is for using that widget in any angle and scale is for resizing and the second one for the title name.

and below command title settings you will see command result settings.
it has two settings too.
the first one is there to show the result of the widget is working fine or not.
as the title mention result :P
if it is working fine then that image will turn green and if not then red .
if you dont want it then do as i have mentioned up ;)

still any problem , just ask

another update noobs :p

dbus-send --type=method_call --dest=com.nokia.HildonDesktop.AppMgr /com/nokia/HildonDesktop/AppMgr com.nokia.HildonDesktop.AppMgr.LaunchApplication string:"<application name here>"

this the command to use any application you wanted to have as a qbw ,)

HOW TO USE
go to usr/share/applications/hildon
here you will see applications with .desktop .
just ignore the .desktop and copy the rest of the name of the app at the end of the code.
like if you wanted to have x terminal just write ''osso-xterm'' as osso-xterm.desktop is written in the directory.

just copy the code , add a new beecon and go to add cmd put a title and paste the command and your beecon is ready ;)

eefo 2011-04-30 21:24

Re: QBW for the noobs

and yeah , you cannot find contact , media player and conversation in that directory .
to use them you need to copy these code exactly and paste them in clip board .

method to copy in advance settings (although mentioned in wiki but as most of us dont like to search wiki :P that's why mentioning)

copy the big code and paste it in a notepad and save it as a .txt file then put it in MyDocs then in your n900 make a new beecon , go in the settings of it then go to advance and press yes and then scroll down and find import file to buffer it will take you to MyDocs find that .txt file and click on it , it will paste the command on the clipboard then click import buffer to beecon then it will take you back to the settings window click save and run :p

now the CODES

well that's the standard icon size, but qbw will take any sixe and then we can just edit the size in settings.

good to see you got to grips with it though

use WINSCP to get into any directory or filebox.
once you have entered the directory you will see all your apps with .desktop .

and in the case of osso files yes you have to put osso before them.
not all of the apps have osso with them.
just few of them.
i recommend downloading and install WINSCP on your computer/laptop and goind to the directory .
it will clear everything .

Ok I have done all that and created the short cuts that I want, but how do I change their 'clicked/pressed' background?

I know how to set the main background to any image I want, I have done that. But when I click the widget, I want it to have an effect, like a button pressed effect on the current N900 app shortcuts. Exactly like that.

I have the image for it and I know QBW can do it, I just don't know how. Please help me

I tried those but it didn't seem to make any change at all. It should be those options but there is no difference regardless of what image I put in there.

And yes the images I want to use are alredy in my /home/user/.queenbeecons folder

http://wiki.maemo.org/Queen_BeeCon_W...ress_Animation
is the key to your FX
see http://wiki.maemo.org/Queen_BeeCon_W..._Dialer_Widget
for an example

Be warned, however, that app gets lauched very quickly and you might not be able to see the press animation unless you put some delay (sleep 1) after click

ok first of all , check if you have entered kasvopus only , because .desktop will not work .
and second check if osso is there with kasvopus or not .
and if osso is not there then

dbus-send --type=method_call --dest=com.nokia.HildonDesktop.AppMgr /com/nokia/HildonDesktop/AppMgr com.nokia.HildonDesktop.AppMgr.LaunchApplication string:"kasvopus"

should work .

and second check if osso is there with kasvopus or not .
and if osso is not there then

dbus-send --type=method_call --dest=com.nokia.HildonDesktop.AppMgr /com/nokia/HildonDesktop/AppMgr com.nokia.HildonDesktop.AppMgr.LaunchApplication string:"kasvopus"
