n900 problem

hi guys, i have a big problem with my n900 and i need your help.
i installed earthworm jim deb file and after some time i saw that n900 was assuming that the game folder had over 800Gb (yes this was not a type error), i uninstalled the game to see if the folder would disapear but it didnt, tried to delete it manually but a lot of files (with some strange names) were read-only and i could not change them to normal, but yet i could live with that bug.
but now every folder of my n900 partition (n900 included) is on read-only mode as the other files, i cant even create a single folder... What do you think i can do?
I thought in format but i dont know how to do it :s (saw a wiki tutorial but it was confusing)
Thanks guys

Re: n900 problem

If you're using Backupmenu you can just restore a back up and be back to normal in about five minutes.

Maybe you could try apt-get purge nameofthingyouinstalled

Or reflash, which can be confusing but is an essential thing to know. What did you find confusing about the tutorial?

Re: n900 problem

hi thanks for your reply, unfortunantly i wasnt using that application (didnt know it exist) and the dev file i installed is not in repository so i think it wont find anything...
i found out that the folders only get read-only when i view memory usage (cause of those 800GB), so the only way to remove them is by reflashing?
Is there any good tutorial about reflashing?
I am Portuguese and my phone does not have the 4 directional keys, so will i have to reflash with a specific file?
Sorry about all these questions but i am full of doubts...
And once again thanks

Re: n900 problem

800 GB seems like a lot.

You have caused yourself a pretty big problem. Maybe someone will have some easy suggestions. My first thought is go to the Nokia site and try to install the software fresh, another way of reflashing.

Re: n900 problem

before reflashing...u can try these things...

1) connect to windows pc and scan and correct drive errors
2) if u have backup of ur all data including contacts and all stuff...go to settings-->tap on drop down menu and select clear device...default code is 12345
3) if 2 of above donot help then flashing is the last option.. :D

or if u have rootsh installed u can try this..

in xterminal type

root
umount /home/user/MyDocs
fsck -a /home/user/MyDocs
