BTW, I created a WIKI for Sociality. I tried to cover all important aspects covered in this thread so far. It was a pain reading through 500+ posts, many of them just repeating requests and problems , but well I hope I didn´t miss to much relevant stuff... I did not cover all issues already resolved by current release and I also did not include all issues that (seemed to me) where individual issues of single/few users for now, because I assume they are resolved by now / with latest release. Everyone, please feel free to contribute, correct errors, complete and keep the wiki page up to date  Hoping that users will read the wiki and find answers before posting here, thus having a more clean thread  MAG, would it be possible to add a link to the wiki to Post #1, so more users will find it? Guess a Sticky Post including the wiki link would be nice here :D |
Re: [Annnounce] Sociality | Facebook client in Qt
Cant believe that facebook removed the functionality of sending messages from the API...
Only facebook make changes/updates that actual remove functionality or make existing functionality so damn awkward to use.. Anyway that you could implement it so that your app had a create message button or reply button which will link you to that message in your inbox but using MicroB instead of the fb app? If u dont understand what I mean, lemme know and ill try and explain it when im more awake, and more sober :P |
Re: [Annnounce] Sociality | Facebook client in Qt
the news feed needs some work too, it always shows the top commented tsatus so that means it show all the pages updates, but not my friends's anyway we can have most recent feeds in the news feed ?

a) adding a slim dark blue border b) adding a small shadow c) adding a color gradient I think for a button look and feel it is also important to have some kind of action, like changing to a darker shade on press. Oh, and added Jessie's girl in order to get a more real life look, hope she doesn´t mind :D |
Re: [Annnounce] Sociality | Facebook client in Qt
I like the mockups but I think the profile picture is a bit to large. And because of its size there's that white unused space and it's not practical.

Re: [Annnounce] Sociality | Facebook client in Qt
For unknown reason, I failed to post any comments now, but creating new status is fine, just reply comment always bounce a failed to post comment.
I tried logout and re-log in, restart the phone, still unable to reply comment anyone know what's wrong? It used to works fine add note: seems the program is picky on comment, I tried one commend to my friend status and it posted, but unable to post my own created status comment:confused: more added note: I suspect the status I started is from MSN which linked and posted on FB, therefore sociality cannot reply any comment that not original posted in FB, anyone can confirm that? |

and the word "Sociality" looks fine in the header, unless if it's possible at the implementation stage to make it change according to the user's name. And yea u're right about the action buttons, it'll be fine. We'll provide some buttons with its shades and see which suits. p/s: the Jessie girl does make the picture alive indeed :D |

But here we go, another draft, just reordered the objects basically with profile pic slightly smaller, avoiding unused space  Thanks daperl for confirming that Jessie doesn't mind :D |
Re: [Annnounce] Sociality | Facebook client in Qt
Ummmm yea I think The previous one looked well, clean and tidy. If the space is filled it's gonna look annoyingly packed.

IMO Name under pic Also possibility to open status update comments as folder trees in _same_ view would be nice. |

Even with a break between first and last name it would require a quite small font size with long names or think of Longname A posted to Longname B's wall  Quote:

While I believe all risks should be mentioned, I was wondering how you decided this might cause problems with the whole device :p

K guys, here is another quick shot of a mockup.
Think it is obvious that I was inspired by the sweet UI of cutetube-QML created by the great Marxian :D, so all creativity credits go to him ;) (Hope you don't mind Marxian) As some people stated they would prefer a dark UI, I decided to stick with the dark theme of cutetube-QML, but I think a similar layout can also be created using a white and blue theme (which I personally would still prefer ;-) ). This time I also tried to have a less FB-oriented, more experimental UI concept (again somewhat adopted from Marxian ;-) ), not sure if its really usable though (srcolling in the "small" boxes might be hard as well as finding a spot for tapping for scrolling to posts further down). Bottom line, in the first place, I see this as an experiment to see what might be possible and usable or not and for inspiration for more ideas (from you guys :p). |
Re: [Annnounce] Sociality | Facebook client in Qt
Bug? When changing connection with app open the connection dialog still comes up . . .
|
Re: [Annnounce] Sociality | Facebook client in Qt
Bug!
you can start multiple Socialty, when have start Socialty and minimize it. And you press on the icon I app menu the Socialty starts again instead of plop it minimized. Can you fix that? :D |
Re: [Annnounce] Sociality | Facebook client in Qt
That's very cool Reflektorfalke. I like it very much. However I must say that a top priority should be performance and usability. If it can be achieved with that design the app would be really nice.
I still like the original app though... |

I totally agree, performance and usability should come first and at the moment I have no idea how to make this last design really usable. As said it´s meant more as an experimental design for inspiration ;-) Regarding the "bugs" mentioned by robin and carlito, I can not confirm them, hence I don`t add them to the wiki until someone else confirms.. |

Re: [Annnounce] Sociality | Facebook client in Qt
MAG,
I have downloaded the project in to QtSDK, with the hope of learning something and possibly doing some interface tweaks that you may be able to merge at some stage. The project loaded fine, and all the gui and underlying code is there, but what I don't understand is where do I get and put the dependencies? Sorry if this is a little off topic, but I would love to contribute where I can. |
Re: [Annnounce] Sociality | Facebook client in Qt

Re: [Annnounce] Sociality | Facebook client in Qt

There are two ways: 1) Either get the deb and extract it manually into QtSDK/Maemo/4.6.2/sysroots/fremantle-arm-sysroot-20.2010.36-2-slim/ 2) Use mad-admin xdpkg: Code:
mohammad@mohammad-i5laptop:~$ ./QtSDK/Maemo/4.6.2/bin/mad-admin xdpkgAnd thanks, you know why ;) |
Re: [Annnounce] Sociality | Facebook client in Qt
It would be awesome if fb chat was integrated in it too! :)

@MohammadAG
Hi, nice program :D I use it as the main facebook client, I was wondering if you could implement the "places" function, it isn't possible insert a new place if that is not listed, can you fix this? EDIT: there is also a bug in places function, when i select friends that i want to tag, and I search with keyboard, I click done but the program select only the last friend that i tap, can you fix this? :D |

Hello.
Someone spoke about Twitter integration too. Any chance to integrate it to Sociality? Like Tweetdeck or Ovi Social. Best Regards, Germano. |
