Yes, think this one looks better, even though the S seems the be slightly left from centered?

BTW, the icon style guide can be found here

I used your icon background and the "S" from this icon (assuming this is the one you have been using).
Just increased the size of the S and moved it somewhat right. Like it this way?
Oh, I noticed this one is 80x80 pixels which will be fine for Harmattan but is too big for Maemo which uses 64x64, but I think you know that ;-)

According to the style guide
Quote:

Elongated elements may exceed the recommended “Focal Zone” by a few pixels.
Anyway, in your last uploads it looks to be within the focal zone, right?
But no biggy if you prefer the S smaller this is no problem...

I bet MAG is already working on some great hacks to make N9 even better ;) What is it MAG, auto rotation to landscape for the 3 homescreens :D?
Ok, here you go man, Sociality icon with 80x80 pixels will look better on MeeGo :p

Guess the s-icon without the book is better. When you make it small it's better to read / recognize.

What do you mean by "when you make it small"?
Icon size for Maemo is 64x64 and 80x80 for MeeGo - no need to make it smaller...
I agree, the word "Sociality" is somewhat hard to read on the book, but so what?
The "S" is big enough to be read easily, it follows the Facebook style with the dark blue shade and the light blue bar and the book is an additional hint what this app is about ;-)
So from my point of view this icon is quite descriptive with the word Sociality as just another style element - every book needs a title - right? :D

Anyway, its just one suggestion from my side. In the end its MAG´s decision what he likes best (or he thinks the community/users will like best)

Get it, but the icon that shows up when you post something on facebook is a small icon. But I agree that MAG will decide which icons he want to use. Thanks for making some of them!

In this screenshot you can see that MAG is already using an icon with big "S" only for "posted by Sociality".
The book icon was certainly not meant for that ;)

Is this app stable enough to use by a non-programmer?
I have not installed any Facebook clients on my N900 yet, so am looking a one good one.
Thanks!

It's stable enough, but not all the functionalities are implemented yet.
On the other hand, you can try Kasvopus, which also is a facebook client. Both are good to me, better in certain areas for one and vice versa.

Viewing friends photos is supported already, but not all friends allow you to view their photos. Thus its no problem of Sociality but depends on your friends permission settings...
Commenting photos will be possible with next version btw.

Per the wiki, going to photos from the notifications popup does not work in current version, and has been/will be fixed in the next version.

Sociality do not require any programmer trick to use it, it is user friendly and as easy as an iphone apps to use

what i meant to say by it doesnt display correctly is that when i click on the friends list it just display some friends not all of em

Did you check if you get the same behavior with an alternative FB-cient (Kasvopus)?

I also got a places check-in message cut off today and I *think* (95% certain) it got cut off just prior to an ampersand too.

One other report - on a previous check-in a few days ago, I tagged a friend. The check-in got posted fine but the friend wasn't included. I added her later, from the desktop fb site via microB, which worked OK. Not sure if that's a known issue or not (haven't really kept pace with this thread ...) but thought I'd mention just in case.

Re: [Annnounce] Sociality | Facebook client in Qt

Tonight I hope, lots of bugfixes included :)

I wonder if I should jump to the new facebook messaging API (the one with chat showing in messages, with an option to hide them of course), it's annoying to have the wrong message count cause someone continued a chat conversation to send me a message rather than using the new message button.

One disadvantage though, not all users have that feature, even though it started in March :/
