Mail for exchange doesn't sync with google calendar any longer ?
 

Hi

I know that Google calendar is not supported by MfE, but it kind of worked for me so far...

However for the last ten days (or so), when I try to sync I got an "Error in communication with exchange server" as soon as it tries to sync.

I did the usual "manual complete resync" and the "delete all and complete resync" tricks with no success.

Maybe it's related to the recent change in Google calendar ?

Anyone has this problem ? A solution ?

That is "ActiveSync" != "ActiveSync". Googles implementation is nothing like "usable by other (than google's) ActiveSync clients". I just stopped using it yesterday for good.

I tried Erminig but it didn't work (stalled in mid-sync).

I've just checked. Synchronizing Google Calendar with http://nuevasync.com/ still works, but they no longer provide free service.

just tested, and both contacts and agenda still sync with gmail fine here (using MfE).

OK, thanks for this information. I don't know what could be the problem on my side...

- I can ping m.google.com.
- the error occurs both on 3G and Wifi

?

The only advice I could give is something you already did it seems.... wipe the calendar and do a full manual sync.

Maybe there is something in your calendar or contacts that it doesn't like? Anything you added recently?

This is the only way I can get it to sync. A little annoying, but at least it's do-able.

Weird, I only need to do that every few months... most of the time, it Just Works (TM)

EVERY time I try and sync manually, it seems to work, then when I check the details of the calendar, absolutely nothing has been added. Deleting and starting again on the device is the only way I can sync. :mad:
