The only leaked RM-680 pictures we got from end of 2010 never had hw button below the screen if that's what you meant.

BTW, there are some rumours floating around that Nokia will make two open devices this year. The first one with keyboard is N9 and the second without keyboard is N950. Nothing confirmed yet but I wouldn't be surprised if that was the truth.

Based on the discussion above... it looks like the consumer device will not have the hardware keyboard while the dev version is the above one.
That sucks. Why not just give the option to consumers to choose between the two?

Oh frack me! This is fast moving from dream to nightmare... I can only speculate, but everything I've heard about "the meego device" before the FCC news suggested that it would be 'lankku' which is without a keyboard.

Or the other way arround. N950 with keyboard like the N900. And the N9 without keyboard like the N8...

Yep could be, no device is announced yet but hopefully next week at MeeGo conf qgil will give us some more info.

It was not always planned to be a dev device and was pulled last minute but now Nokia brings it back from the dead for devs at least.

That may be, but it doesn't mean that all parts of the video were made very recently. As small details show.

Its purely speculation, no one knows on here (or is letting on) why are people getting their knickers in a twist! The likelyhood is the developers phones and the publicly released phones are almost exactly the same, why would 2 entirely different versions be released when Elop himself announced 1 will be released.

It's unlikely I'll buy both. For the n900, Quim/Nokia gave us a month to decide whether or not to use the Developer Discount Program. I bought from the DDP on the last day. I'm patient, so hopefully I'll again qualify for a discount, while at the same time have two devices to choose from.

Watching That Video again it looks like some parts have been added to that Video at later date, And someone already spotted there is two N9 model revisions in the video.
One as small vent or speaker/microphone by cam other does not, this could easily explain how recent icons are there.

I'd like to see both on the market simply because it's guaranteed to sell better then. But if they do release both i will certainly get the one with the HW keyboard

Will this beast have provisioning enabled? the only problem I have with N900 is that provisioning was not possible, and I could not sync my corporate email!!!

I just got a sinking feeling for a second: what if the hw version is just the dev one, and the all touchscreen is the consumer one? THAT would be AWFUL

Same here with me. Liked the N95 loudness and 3d effect sound, N900 is downer, but still stereo, if the speaker is at the back , it is probably mono like N8 E7 , but I heard they are loud enough. If it were Stereo 3D surround would be nice. What I'm expecting is flash 10.1 in browser and (at least) wvga resolution streaming support (480p) on youtube. 720p @ 30fps (not 23,25) video recording, Dual core would be nice.
Let's wait and pray, otherwise starting Android OS with SGS2 (Probably going to be Best Smartphone of 2011) . Just hope it is 40 percent better/faster than N900. At least .
I saw this link, looks promising. Only CPU and GPU could be a bit better by 2011.

Personally I think first Maemo CSSU people and N900de should have one. Even if some maybe cant attend... Cause they have given so much to the community..

People here do not remeber the 'Fremantle Stars'? Key developers were given Frankenstein N900's *months* before the N900 was announced, under NDA. Wouldn't be surprised if the same occurred with this device as well. 'Developer device' could also simply mean that a certain IMEI ranges of devices will be allowed to traverse the DRM and non-DRM worlds while consumer ones won't. ;)

It came with the same Camera unit as the N8 but with Dual LEDs :( Should be have been Xeon+LEDs

But the device is almost dead at heart. No software update, no applications support and no supports
