This sounds right. Except, you can overclock the N900 to more than 800 Mhz, beating the Iphone 4. But remember, hardware doesnt only mean processor speed, what about all those amazing features such as FM Transmitter, FULL bluetooth (which the Iphone lacks), IR.. But good point :)

I thought the iphone 4's A8 was running at 1Ghz? Anyway the N900 can beat it in CPU speed at least in some cases and it has better connectivity, but iphone 4 has faster graphic-card and better screen.
N900
  • 600-1200 MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor
  • PowerVR SGX530 GPU
  • 800x480 3.5"

Iphone 4
  • 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor
  • PowerVR SGX535 GPU
  • 640x9603.5"

Iphone 3GS
  • 600 MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor
  • PowerVR SGX535 GPU
  • 320x480 3.5"

I'm fine with the N900 screen honestly, but I wouldn't exactly mind better resolution. More ram of course would be nice, can't argue with that.

I forgot about that little limitation on charging and transmitting. I believe there's ways discovered by now to disable that little "feature". I believe it's a matter of grabbing one of joerg's patched fmtdx binaries and replacing it.

Okay, so... what? If you're actually doing that, you mean to tell me you're reading forum threads while operating a two-or-so ton highly mobile metal object? (Though I suppose you could be a native speaker of one of those languages where "drive" is also used to mean traveling-as-the-passenger-of-the-vehicle.) But seriously, it's one thing to rub in the versatility of your device, it's another to be doing that in a way that can put people and lives in danger.
