I had to break out the winblows box to update. Both my mac and linux machines failed to run the update. Also it looks like the cool vista theme doesn't work. I miss the smaller font size already. Oh yea, 1:24am AKST. :rolleyes:

Still not checked browser problems (since I am at work, as told), only noticed that Adria messed up the side scrollbar.

I have problems installing my old apps, though, as I explained in another thread, and I too i noticed that the thumboard switcher appears to be less sensitive

I am really disappointed that there is no A2DP support or support yet for PAN bluetooth connections. 3G devices that offer up DUN are getting increasingly rare. While Flash 9 is a nice addition (I could care less about mobile Youtube, I use my N800 for serious stuff), Opera seems even flakier then ever.

It is - when I go to open skype it actually opens the application manager to download it. I am not online (with the n800), so I don't have Skype yet. Unless something is really screwed up on my install...

Oh, the new flash seems pretty unstable. Several of my bookmarked sites now cause OPera to exit after partially loading the page and spits out the error message "Internal error. Application 'Web' closed."

If I disable the flash plugin, I am able to browse the affected sites just fine. For an example, goto www.escapepod.org
Wait for the page to load and then try scrolling down the page and/or going in and out of fullscreen.

Can anyone else confirm this behavior?

havent updated yet, but still no pan or a2dp? on a multimedia tool that advertises blutooth connectivity...very sad indeed, sad!

i cant get skype to download, i click on the skype link, it sends me to app manager to download, and then fails 10 seconds later!!!! any ideas

What I did was download the .bin file to my desktop and update. Ofcourse I took a backup first. Nokia updated pretty fast, and booted. Then it told me that it had found an back up and asked if it could be used. I said yeah and it booted after restore.

Ok, now I get bunch of errors when updating software list. The log says it can't connect to nokia repository. Then nothing. What gives.

Actually I do have a complaint.
Maybe it's me... but..when you are in between a call.. how to text chat with others ?!?!?
I see the notice people are writing me, but I can't see any means to switch to the text window to reply to them.

BTW: no video support for Skype. Yet. (I hope).

Screen is more responsive. Skype is there ;)

- Browser is crashing on some flash sites
- no addon theme is installable anymore
- canola can't install
- statusbar monitor doesn't work
- statusbar clock doesn't work
- white themebackground error still there

O dear... I hope the themes work soon, I really hate the default ones.

I just installed the new firmware with success and I'm loving it. Screen is very responsive and I really like Skype and Flash 9 support.

Is there a way to make the thumboard activate? While Skype is nice, I need to be able to type emails on this thing without a stylus. I got the thumboard to pop up only once. I am trying to press as "thumby" as possible, but i still get the stylus keyboard.

Youtube seems markedly better. Before, I couldn't get to much of my cable company's site, roadrunner, because I got a message saying I needed Flash 9. Now there's no warning, Opera just crashes.

So far my impression is a small improvement, but not much. It leaves me in a cranky state of mind.

I had backup my data on a card, but now when I try to restore it does not see the file.

Also I'm trying to download Skype it keeps blocking.

So everyone get off the servers of Skype.(just Kidding)

It will be a great task to reinstall all my programs back on my N800.

thoughtfix mentioned that you can set the sensitivity of the touch screen in the control panel. That should solve your problem.

I get a "Canola cannot install" error.
Maybe I installed something that the Canola install doesn't like. Maybe Python, I'll check.

Press the centre D pad button to activate the thumb board once the virtual keyboard shows up.

As for me, I don't seem to have the Orb login problem mentioned. The login form shows up, but when the virtual kb pops up, the flags (for different languages overlaps some of the text fields).

Opera crashed once on me.

Is it me or does the bluetooth icon at the top bar disappears again after a reboot? I hope the old problem isn't coming back!

I am missing CTRL, ALT modifiers on mine.

actually I'm real disappointed, no BT hi fi audio or support for a BT earpiece which would have enabled skype to have marginal value, but, I ain't walking around with the worthless headset that's wired that nokia provided.
youtube, who cares? it's nice if yer bored I guess.
a REAL open SIP app wold have been useful.
I don't see anything with this update.

Indeed, it's very odd that not even mono headsets are supported. I would have guessed tha nokia would have supported nokia BT headsets (mono ones) just to get skype work really well. Well, can't have it all. At least we god skype, which is a great thing!
