Nitdroid is an emulation and not a progammable OS in its own right this speaks for itself. MeeGo is only in developer platform stage and not yet ready as a programmable fully working with no issues OS for the N900. To date the only real progress is hard work and all have many problems in one way or another. End user does NOT want or need a dual boot situation in any way or form, what they need is a simple programmable image as a full OS without any problems just as an "update" you would get direct from Nokia using the normal flashing routine that we have all become familiar with and can work with. MeeGo should at least be available as a full blown working image that does not require anything else than a normal flash as in the last update we ever got from Nokia, the 1.3 without the need of any other programming or dual boot whatsoever. All i am asking is, will this be the case for MeeGo OR the CSSU. |
Re: MeeGo 1.2 is Officially released
has anybody succeeded in installing the MeeGo SDK 1.2 on any version of Ubuntu ? Using the GUI installer found:
http://developer.meego.com/guides/ge...v1.2-sdk-linux It doesn't seem to work on my Linux Mint install. i'm probably missing some package(s) in order for the installer to work correctly. I get errors like: Error during installation process(com.meego.sdk.madde): Execution failed (Unexpected exit code: 1): "/home/bernard/.config/meego.com/sdk/MADDE/madde_patch" ignore/cancel/retry |

The truth is though, that you might not have a clue as to what it is that the CSSU team is finding most difficult or in what form can MeeGo be most succesful. Many might also agree, that it isn't as simple as eiter having the CSSU or MeeGo De. I for one don't share that thought. I don't think that's a relevant question to raise in the first place. So how about you lay off dictating what people feel and want, and just concentrate in thinking about what you want, and how you can best turn that around towards something constructive? giving suggestions over what would rock in MeeGo DE that would please you, as stskeeps suggested you do. Most of what you say seems like a critique. I'd rather hear you say what it is that you would enjoy seeing, instead of guessing and claiming what I want. :) |

Re: MeeGo 1.2 is Officially released
Hi
I've been testing meego de weekly builds for sometime now. It looks very promising. But there's one thing this lazy *ss is wondering. Does zypper up and zypper dup do what they should do? So I don't necessary need to download for new image every time? |

Have tried zypper with the latest DE Handset builds and only get "nothing to be done" returned without any verbose output for checking of repos as i did with the tablet builds.. |
