because it is conflicting with the one you have on .
means the transition you already have is not letting transitioncontrol to be opened .
try putting the original transition.in file in /usr/share/hildon-desktop/ and then open it again or if you are using maemodder then just choose any custom transition and then open transitioncontrol again .
it will work.


p.s i hope you guys do have the original file backed up :$

cheers eefo copied original transition.ini back and it working now, knew i'd backed it up for some reason lol

i am facing the same problem with transition control...how to - "try putting the original transition.in file in /usr/share/hildon-desktop/ and then open it again"..help plz..m a noob :(

right i'm using theme customizer and noticed there's a transition.ini in that folder should i change that for the original one aqs well as user/share/hildondesktop?

because i've changed the values in transition control and i don't notice any difference.

TC has nothing to do with transition I GUESS .
as theme customizer doesn't change anything related to movement in N900 .
ok go to /usr/share/hildon-desktop .
check if there are two transition files ?
one should be with old or default name ?
just remove the other file and copy paste again the original file .

in usr/share/hildon-desktop i hav 3 files..1-transitions.ini, 2) transitions.ini.bak, 3) transitions.ini.default...what to do next..i dint understand yoy properly

well the transition.ini.bak one is karam's transition file .
you can remove it and the default one too as the original file is about to take place above all ..
so just remove both of them and place the original transiton.ini file in /usr/share/hildon-desktop

and try again opening transitioncontrol

I did this

go to x-term

sudo gainroot
-------------------
cp /usr/share/hildon-desktop/transitions.ini.default /usr/share/hildon-desktop/transitions.ini

then it was fine...

i never tried the restore button in maemodder :p
needed my hildon-control-panel back :p
and that restore button worked :P

ok so now i delete transitions.ini.bak? ok done removed.den i deleted transitions.ini.default.now i have only one file left in usr/share/hildon-desktop that is transitions.ini...which file should i copy?i already have transitions.ini file in there...sorry if i am bothering u alot.

Should "Blank min" & "Blank max" be set to "10" also?
These are the last two settings.

My default values were "0"

ammmmm actually you dont have to copy any file from /usr/share/hildon-desktop but to paste the original transition.ini file .


you can try the two given solutions .
if still things didn't go the right way , you can ask again .

where do i find the original transitions.ini file..i hav one transition.ini file in MyDocs. of 7kb should i paste that file in usr/share/hildon-desktop??

the file which you have to wait for is the original file , the one nokia has placed in /usr/share/hildon-desktop/
and i am not sure that the first post has it or not .
that's why not recommending anything from first post.

transition control opened without any tweaks or anything..i changed all the values which were 25 to 10..dats what i shud do ryt?..nd wat can i do more with transition control..can u explain me in a bit...:)

transitioncontrol changes the speed of opening app and closing app .
in short it makes your phone smooth , as in movement of minimizing apps and restoring apps and stuff.


p.s lookint at trisha's condition it looks like transitioncontrol will work if /usr/share/hildon-dekstop/ has only transition.ini file in it. ..

i changed all the 25s to 10..what to do if i want what it was before?cz m nt sure weder i want it or not..coz m not understanding it properly..the blur,sub in sub out..what will happen if i increase it or decrease it

well it wont harm your phone .
you can simply change the values and feel the difference .

and yes you can use maemodder for other transition files .
like maemodder has some builtin transitions files by modders .
i hope maemodder will give you your answer .

i will do some tests and will find a solution

karam i have problem whit my .jpg files.when i click on them from my file manager they are opened in the browser.Its possible this is a bug whit your script ??? i only ask if this happend whit your Nokia N900.Try please.
