Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

sorry just read it. i dled the old version karam as mentiones in your previous post for right now. waiting for the new update for people like us non-kp ie

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

something in the new battery patch disagrees with my n900 just had 2 reboots in last half hour. going to remove battery patch and wait for the other version

ceroberts75 2011-09-07 15:43

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

@karam

ok, so i just

apt-get install batterypatch

in trying to catch up on this thread, is the new deb better then what i had already installed from your first post?

i had to "Y" on the xterm to write the new file over the old one.

also, karam, is there a difference in the speed patch that you have done as well in the deb?

for those that are OC'n past the 700mhz...that is most likely the problem. i do not even have to OC anymore with this patch and CSSU.

btw, Karam, i was getting about 3 hours of usage out of a battery before, and now, i get at least 5! way to go. much appreciated!

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

hey karam...this battery patch is not stable for me...so i removed it. but the previous battery patch was working fine for me.
so..what to do now..?? can i install previous batterypatch.?

karam 2011-09-07 15:59

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

that's great ceroberts75 :)
speedpatch is left as it is

now for others having reboots
i have uploaded to extras-devel batterypatch-non-kp

Code:

sudo gainroot
apt-get install batterypatch-non-kp

but wait at least an hour before installing it
so it gets to extras-devel

this one is weaker than the newest one
but no overclock is used with it
only vfs and
pausing unneeded tasks when locking the phone (new feature)
but both increases the standby time only
the newest one increases the continues and standby (unfortunately some members are having reboots but i will try to solve it and upload higher voltages profiles with it)

@corduroysack
it seems that my old custom profile works the best with most of u
can you upload it here cause i deleted it from my N900
ye ye funny the maker asks for his programs -_-

i will try tweaking from it and upload a testing .deb for batterypatch that might be stable for those having reboots

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

hey i am using the previous version of batterypatch coz the new one caused reboots. is there a point in installed the latest non-kp version? is it the same as the previous one that i am using> or does it have more fixes but doesnt cause reboots

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

@zurrain101
delete the old one you have
and install it non-kp from repo if you have reboots

and it has some fixes that doesn't cause reboots check up above post
(new feature)

PS: GUYS DON'T BE SMART*SS AND USE THE VERSION UPLOADED BY CORD
IT IS FOR ME TO TWEAK IT TO A STABLE BATTERYPATCH

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

ok thanks a lot man. i will do that. and i will wait for the new patch that increases continous time as well as u mentioned but without reboots. and yes your custom profile is the best ever

mohammad i wish my n900 would be different so i could use newest [patch without reboots. but oh well might be an update for us reboot boys

it will happen yes it will
i know it will because karam make wonders to our n900
and i have nno doubt that he will figure out a way to make it stable for you boys ;)

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

@Karam
For me only LV is ok so maybe testing wit it is the right directions for the people with N900 with reboots with th latest baterypatch

ceroberts75 2011-09-07 16:44

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

uh oh...i think i just had a reboot....again...that is 2 since i loaded the new battery patch.

:/

@karam

upon reboot, i always get the "warning: A unexpected reboot occured. Your custom kernel settings were NOT loaded."

so do i need to

kernel-config load custom-karam

everytime i reboot?

fw190 2011-09-07 17:02

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

No sens in loading it all the time in my opinion. Your N900 (mine too :) ) doesn't like the voltages so why push it to use this settings ;)

ceroberts75 2011-09-07 17:05

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

i think it may actually be a default notification from the titan kernel.

i do not OC it, so i am not using any OC changes....i ask to see if karam knows if this is changing anything on the karam kernel

fw190 2011-09-07 17:08

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

But still I think that the voltages are to low in Titans profiles. Even if not OC on lower frequencies they are to low. With the lates batterypatch it is overclocked automaticaly.

corduroysack 2011-09-07 17:13

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

i've removed battery patch and using karam's custom profile from far back in the thread (post156 i think)
but karam said not to use in conjunction with the new battery patch hence the removal

ceroberts75 2011-09-07 17:14

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

@karam

yup...just rebooted again Karam.

i need to go back to the last custom-karam kernel.

Can anyone summarise the pros and cons of using this application? 215 pages, would take a long time reading!

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

only con we got at the moment is battery patch causing random reboots which karam is working on.

ceroberts75 2011-09-07 17:21

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

installing batterypatch-non-kp now.

will report if any challenges...otherwise, i will need to revert to the one i had before today.

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

i have no unexpected reboot so far
7 hours using it
of course super battery life
ceroberts75 karam said that non-kp will not cause reboots cause it doesn't use any oc

Re: [NEW UPDATE FOR BATTERY PATCH] [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks ----> Every Thing You Need To Have Perfect N900

I think that OC isn't the problem but the voltages. On LV fast every N900 works so if whe change the profile on which it is overclocked all should work well.

This is correct diagnosis, I myself had these problems after installing Ammyt's patch, the starving voltage was way too unstable for my phone, therefore I manually changed this to LV and thankfully have not had any reboots since

then i looked through using file box and deleted everything speedpatch and deleted bash and bashrc from home/user (had backupmenu installed just in case)
then i reinstalled speedpatch and rebooted twice. device wouldn't reboot first time so removed battery for about 10 seconds
error has gone now.
thought i'd sorted it before but after that freeze and reboot it started again.

Did not do it for me. I have purged, used uninstall-scripts and reinstalled bash.
Still having this:

plz help its really annoying that i have applies battery patch correctly and then rebooted bt as in the first post of this thread karam has said to check whether the patch is applied or not use
echo 1000>> /proc sys/vm/vfs_cache_pressure and then
secure/lock device and then
cat /proc sys/vm/vfs_cache_pressure
u should see 100 bt wtf i am seeing 1000 written

bt for try if change value to 100 as

echo 100>> /proc sys/vm/vfs_cache_pressure
then lock device and then

cat /proc sys/vm/vfs_cache_pressure
i see 100.
what is this problem? what i am doing wrong?
i have done all steps including enabling smart reflex in qcpufreq

thanks for the patches btw! ^^

EDIT: i uninstalled it through FAPMan but it was removed from the multiboot menu after 3 reboots..

Could not find any trace of patches on /home/user, but applied patch-removals, bash-reinstall and reboots (including battery removal). Problem remains.

Edit: After removing Speedpatch I still have this folder:

Code:

Nokia-N900:/dev/cgroup/cpu/user# ls
2288

BTW when I ssh to my N900 (as root) I do not have these lines
Code:

drove me crazy whenever it kept showing up, i was really close to reflash :(

at least 50 - 100 % more life

but don't shout on me if you didn't get that value
cause different N900s have different abilities

PS: if you didn't receive the update
wait a bit more cause i have just uploaded it to extras

@ammyt and every one else having that error
The point of that error in the newest version is just to tell you if speedpatch is activated or not
if it appeared that means speedpatch is not activated

TBH in my N900 i don't get that error except after an unexpected reboot
i have R&D mode disabled

i have kernel-power v47 (v48 is buggy)

@TransTech
i just say
don't force anything with speedpatch
read the above
and i think people who uses stock kernel
speedpatch doesn't work with them (not sure)

i'm using KP-48 now, but i had also installed spead-patch before.. i.e when it was not in repos (on Kp-47), both the time i got same result..

p.s. i have CSSU, kp-48, H/W Acc On, and lots of apps, lots of widgets on 5 homescreens.. luckily i have back-up menu which saved me...or else i had to flash my N900...

I know all n900s are not same, maybe tahts problem but i'll try once again and tell you...:)

I have proven to change profiles, voltages, etc.. Nothing at all, it only resets.

I changed to version "non-kp" and seems to be better.

using battery patch kp version from last 12 hrs got 5 reboots 4 while idle and 1 while on the call. it saves battery but more than that it reboots.
i am using it with
:kp 47
:no speedpatch :
no cssu

karam find a solution to this reboot problem and simply removing through FAM will remove the battery patch completely or manual removal is required?

thank you

ps: got 4 more reboots in last 15 mins like a reboot loop. goin to remove battery patch.
