Sorry im a noob at this the only thing that is working is the power kernel code but i didnt install it because i was afraid that it might mess up my n900. Do i need to download anything before inputing ur code? I followed what u said in page 1 but it says couldnt find package batterypatch-non-kp. Im gonna wait for ur answer. Thanks karam and more power

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
@supermikoman
you need to update the repository of devel @trisha02 i have posted a solve few pages back there are actually 2 possible things that cause the problem try them both if didn't work then reflash your N900 and start freshly with speedpatch |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
if i use the power kernel thing wont it mess up my n900? is it 100 percent safe sir karam? does it have any disadvantages? i love my n900 i dont want it to be damaged. hehe

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
plus what do i need to enable when u said update repositories? extras devel testing or extras? or do i need to enable them all? thanks sir karam

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
im confused ive set the overclock settings to limits 500-805 and deleted the voltage/clock/dsp settings for 550-750, after locking and unlocking the phone it uses my new higher clock speed of 805 but still uses all the levels of clockspeeds that i have removed, any 1 else got this and i wonder what voltages those speed are using
besides that i have fantastic battry life thou im still unsure abojt speed patch after 4 days up time laging a little but still great work lol |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
using the kernel power, is it the same with overclocking?
|
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
@supermikoman
enable extras-devel using kernel-power : the same usual warning @johnsnipe removing these files will not let you know if speedpatch was working it's not a very smart thing to do @stooobs some voltages (even if they were removed) N900 will use them |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
do you have any idea why its still useing clockspeeds i have removed ive never seen this before but it is the first time ive used conservative govenor i dont think theres a connection thou

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
hi all.
i am using a chinese input program name mcip, which is writing in py script. There is a problem i found while using speedpatch. When i receive sms , i will open then conversation and reply using chinese input asap. But my action always make the phone hang. I believe this is cause by the changing profile while using the chinese input. Any steps to solve the problem ? =========== just try the same action without charging phone, seems like the problem appear while charging? |

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
The "batterypatch", it extends the life significantly.
Using a Battery "1420mAh SCUD," with phone use as 2G, WiFi, 3G data, installing applications, etc ... with average usage lasted from a Friday at 6:00 am until Sunday at 2:00 am. There is still 8% of the battery. KP V49, batterypatch and speedpatch in their latest versions. Finally I uninstalled the batterypatch to check the duration without it and because the N900 becomes very slow going from sleep, especially QTLockscreen. |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
@locolyric
your problem is certainly not caused by speedpatch @WhiteWolf you may notice a bit of slow down when unlocking the screen with QtLockscreen, this happens because of the time between switching profiles from underclock to overclock about 0.5 --> 1 second |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
@ All of you people
I was not ok with the battery lasting I had been having. I think because I deinstalled and installed the batterypatch (KP version). So I checked "overclock" profile. i saw that I had too many frequencies active (FREQS), so I changed that. Now I only have 3: 500, 600 and 805, as my N900 can work at 805 MHz. Governor is still conservative and smartreflex's VDD1=0 and VDD2=1. I also raised Max CPU to 805, but that is just for power purposes, and still makes a better performance than with previous settings. I think it works better now. If I'm not wrong was "vi" who pointed out that having a lot of frequencies makes the device slower and thus it sucks more power because of having to switch among a lot of frequencies. I tell you just in case someone was experiencing more battery drain than before. |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
hi guys, i have been using the patches for some time now, i dont know anithing about programming, so i just have installed batterypatch and speedpatch, though i had a lot of issues with the last one...i had the xterm warnings, followed the procedures indicated, but after 5 reboots all was the same...until now...suddently the warnings are gone...instead, my n900 freezes a lot, with no apparent pattern...it never froze before..you think its speedpatch related?
|
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
i have batterypatch and speedpatch and as default custom-karam...as i dont know better...
|
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
personally i haven't had the lag problem before
and that xterm error used to appear but i reflashed and the problem was solved i have figured that the problem was from some kind of ohmed tweak and the most noticeable improvements with speedpatch are : much better multitasking, transmission app doesn't f*ck up all of the phone, asphalt 5 doesn't need to be launched twice so it can turn smooth, and the nokia panorama app just doesn't lag any more :) hope this helps |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
i have noticed huge improvements in my n900 with this paches, both in battery and in performance, i love them and i dont wanna quit them...but right now, by no apparent reason th phone just freezes..i mean, a task is frozen forever(i dont mean lag, i mean its really stuck in the screen), only the phone lights go out and when i tuch it it lihts up again, but nothing else moves...maybe its not even related to speedpatch..any way of knowing?

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
does speedpatch and battery patch work without kernel power? only default kernel which is omap..

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
i bought the scud. but not experiencing drastical battery improvements.i hav already mentioned that 30% takes for an 1.5 hr movie.is it normal? my signatures are installed and some ipk games. powertop also shows around 600 wakeups and when idle top shows 1 or 2% max cpu usage. any guidance please??

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
@Masoi
speedpatch is not confirmed yet to work with the stock kernel personally haven't tested it with omap and i won't but there are 2 versions of batterypatch read the 1st post one for kernel-power and another for non-kernel-power @ed_boner if these problems didn't occur before that means that it's not speedpatch related thing reverse the last changes you did what ever they are or reflash if you couldn't figure out the problem |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
tks mohammad and Karam, i did follow your advice and reflash...testing now, but all seems ok...:)..so for a noob like me the best is to install speedpatch and batterypatch and use custom karam profile, right?
|
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
..so..here is my report..dont know if its significant..reflashed, installed battterypatch, set to custom-karam profile, and speedpatch...ade some reboots, sometimes xterm error appears again, if i use the described methods of removal it doesnt work, but if i reboot again it goes away..so it comes and goes out of nowhere from where i can tell..otherwise, battery and performances are great as always and no more freezing.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900

hello romiiio..i reflashed...have installed harmattan transitions and ssu configurator..no more freeze and never had switch of problem you described...about complete random xterm error...yeah..i am on that boat..:(

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
ed_boner custom-karam profile is old and no one uses it now
there other profiles which are auto loaded when you install batterypatch and those xterm error appears if you had an unexpected reboot such as battery drain or crash there is a test solution which is not confirmed, i guess , here http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...postcount=2425 and if it fixed your problem you can PM karam to update it |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
karam, I installed speed patch in the days before it was available in the repos.
What's the correct uninstall procedure in this case, since the files for uninstalling are no longer present in the first post? Thanks. |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
I noticed something. I don't get the error when opening xterm, but I do get it when I root in xterm and after that reboot true xterm.
When I after that do a manual reboot using the power key the error disappears again. |
Re: [ANNOUNCE] Speed Patch + Battery Patch + Tweaks --> Everything Needed To Have A Perfect N900
hi Seker...tks for the tips...i already tryed that procedure, outcome was the same...random xterm error...i do not relate them with crashes or battery drain, but maybe you are right, i am gonna pay attention...
so...i wil move on from custom-karam...i go to /usr/share/kernel-power-settings and i see many profiles to choose from...are all of them dual(active and inactive modes)?..how can i choose one?..its confusing..:( |
