Nice idea.
But I took
gstreamer0.10-tools_0.10.23-0maemo5+0m5_armel.deb
from there and my N900 (PR1.3.1) says that this is
incompatible.
So which is the correct version?

Edit: probably I should add that I do not want to scare dogs. ;-)

What happens if you just enter

apt-get install gstreamer0.10-tools

I was using my other N900 and I get also a
"...not compatible" with the other N900 and the above deb.

The protocol says:
"/usr/bin/dpkg-deb -f '/home/user/MyDocs/Sound/gstreamer-tools_0.10.25-0maemo4+0m5_armel.deb'
Package must have "Section: user/FOO" to be considered compatible.
FAILED: gstreamer0.10-tools ( ) | gstreamer0.8-tools"

"gstreamer0.8-tools" makes me wonder.
I have some /usr/lib/libgstreamer-0.10.so.0.22.0 installed.
and some /usr/share/gst-python/0.10/...

Any ideas?

Strange Bulgarians ... (kolega, horata nadali imat problemi s ulichnite kucheta iz dyrjavite si ;) ) For those who cannot understand the text in the brackets, it's in Bulgarian and says : I don't think people are having such problems in their countries ;)
