Re: Contacts

i dont believe there is an application to do that (correct me if i'm wrong) but there is an easy way to tell the different by doing this method....create two contact (same first name) but different last name like this...

first contact....
first name :corpse
last name : (cellphone)

second contact...
first name : corpse
last name : (phone)

now when the contact call you can tell the different...just never merge those contact...

Re: Contacts

thank you for you reply,
but that's an obvious method, and i don't want to end up with hundreds an hundreds of contacts,
this should be added as a plugin to the original application,
it should be shown between parenthesis under the name of the contact

Re: Contacts

i read somewhere that its all about who you contact, not how

Re: Contacts

yes, why do you want to know wether you're being called by cell or phone?

Well, a possible use case is: the caller has different SIM cards one of which has a cheaper voicecall plan with you, but (s)he calls you with another carrier (dual sim phone) so you can hangup and send an sms telling him(her) to call you with the corret carrier :)

I agree, there's so much space on that incoming call page, why not display the info? It's a personal preference that should be easily enabled or disabled. Personally I like to know where someone is calling from.

I think if you click on the image while someone is calling it shows the number.

No, it Does Not Show The Number, But Good Idea To integrate

Re: Contacts

It's a major bug for me because if someone has two sim cards.. calls me from one, I can never know which one was it... not easily anyway

also many contacts have local and international no.s as well.. with lots of ppl travelling and out.. using the call log to dial will not work as there is no way to tell which entry is which....

also their is no way to know where is the caller calling me from..... THis is a serious problem by the way.... We need someway to fix this!

Re: Contacts

Can end up calling the Dubai number and getting someone to answer telling you that X that you called is not in Dubai for example.. you'd waste an international call because of that!

Re: Contacts

when I call someone, if I tap on the picture it displays the list of numbers from that person, and shows in blue the number I'm calling. Also, I can tap on all my calls and see what was the number I was calling or the number that each person use to call me. Of couse, It will be good to display the number at the bottom of the picture before you answer.

Re: Contacts

Say I had 3 phone calls from the same person, One office phone, one cellular and one international... all will appear the same in the call log... i will have to individually check each one of them by tapping once .. because they all look the same...

it's manageable but god it needs an alert mind, u cant do that while half asleep 5 AM in the morning

what your asking is something that only a network provider can give to you but i don't think any networks provider will give you a privilege to pinpoint someone location when answering a call...that considering as spying on someone...
