gj Elop you managed to make something no nokia CEO managed to.

wp7 not only have to be a success to make huge profits.

that means more than galaxy s II numbers.

16,7m smartphones sold... elop killed nokia and gave the marketshare to apple and samsung.

nokia is THIRD smartphone manufacturer.

Stock up over 3%

Results are lot bad, but lot better than expected.

Correct about Symbian. Elopcalypse finished it in few months.

EDIT: +4,75% now.

LOL! I really don't know what you expected but at least the market expected far worse :D

Get a grip dude. How can you sell symbian smartphones right now?

It will be 2-3 more bad quarters for Nokia until they will start to sell more. At least they are predicting to have more cash by the end of the year ;)

I think it's lot better to sell decent products, drop to number 3, make profit and gain more ground from there.

Stock +6.52% now :D

You really want to link Tomi Ahonen? If you have followed him for any longer than 1 year you know that he is the worst "analyst" in the blogosphere :D

I remember him writing pieces like this: http://communities-dominate.blogs.co...t-phone-7.html

Give me a break.

After Elop ditched it before Nokia had anything to offer in its place? Bloody impossible. From slow and steady Symbian decline to armageddon in few months.

Where is this extra cash coming from? Apple finally paying license fees? That could explain their prediction. The first payment is going to be really big.

If they can do it yes. I don't see much hope.

this blog as much as yourself seem to have no idea what you are talking about.. Results are indeed better than expected by the market, see the stock for yourself.
Also cutting the price means more sales. May I remind you that nokia does not only have manufacturing costs (ie, per unit), but also fixed costs (R&D, management, factories, aso..)?
Do you have any figures on them? How could you know then that decreasing the price will decrease benefits? Or is that also your "business sense"? ;)

Give me a break.

he was on spot on sales this quarter.

nokia not even 20m range. and passed by both apple and samsung. and they are not even making money. 700m dollars lost.
a few months ago they were outselling both combined.
they even cut the 15% prices so dont expect any profit soon.

the dumphones are making more money than smartphones now.
and of course they can't sell symbian, after abortion elop said.

microsoft better start paying people to buy nokia smartphones, because right now wp7 are tiny.

It's just the latest of Tomi's angry rants. He did get one thing right.

"We are witnessing world record destruction of a brand"

Nokia circa 2009-2012 is going to be in many business study books as interesting example of epic downfall.
