Bingo. It's not like they can't learn from prior mistakes. I actually felt like the JooJoo had a decent UI, a good premise; however it did not sell well (they do fetch a hefty price on eBay now) and it forgot that people actually may want apps. HTML5 wasn't where it is now...

Let's see if they can get past that in this iteration.

Basically, what killed the thing was that it was like a Chromium OS tablet: a browser and nothing more. No applications, no tweaking, no linuxy shenanigans- even though it was based on linux. If the Grid has a full linux distro shoved in, then it's perfect for me. I've pined for a tablet with a full OS but the scelte factor of Android tablets for some time.

It's technically correct to call it "the Android kernel" - the Android kernel is no longer a true Linux kernel. They forked it from Linux some time ago.
