I consider this flame-war trolling and troll feeding as ended, further comments on the topic?

(You can guess that "in a bad mood" I will go back through the whole thread and give infraction points to anyone because of anything worth giving infraction points just because the conversation continues like that!)

Hi lma,

I will discuss infrastructure in another thread. But I think community should not take action until after next election (Sept.) because it will allow community input. Also, some things will shake out in the harmattan/MeeGo world in the next couple months.

sick company,

apologises if i caused you any inconvenience. i tried to keep the tone as matter of factly as possible.
if i had realised sooner that lma isn't member of the council, i wouldn't even have started it in the 1st place

and a council that doesnt engage the wider audience.
that is indeed the saddest part of all this.

And this is your answer to the questions being asked on here? to give what points???? jesus i have now witnessed just about everything now.

Members are trying hard to find out the future of TMO and you come in as a super moderator threatning people with infraction points, this will really make you popular i think.

You could be much more helpfull to us members and give us a clue as to what is going on regarding the future of Maemo.org as let's face it we are all concerned !.

Please stop with the threats because it is just not the way forward at a critical time like this but if you feel you MUST give infraction points then look at the people who have came in with derogatory comments such as ysss and jo21 AND also look at the posts of lma because he has not exactly been fair either.

While you at it please also consider that i started a new thread for ranting in the attempt to keep this one clean but alas it did not work, oh well i did try.

NO ONE HAS COME ON THIS THREAD FROM THE COUNCIL TO ADVISE US AS YET.

chemist,

pardon me for my ignorance, but who are you?
even though he formulated it more vividly, i guess abill asked the same sort of question.

are you a purely technical admin of the (forum) site?
are you a member of the council?
are you a technical admin here on behalf of the council?

to put my question in simple layman's terms, what is your authority?
are you some sort of Judge Dredd, judge and executioner @ once?

No, it is only a small part of maemo.org and as I said it's really up to Reggie.

How would you like it if all existing Maemo apps, as well as the infrastructure to develop new ones, community SSUs etc all disappeared in a few months when Nokia funding dries up? Because that's what at stake here.

As much as i can not agree with everything he has said THIS is scary stuff and said well.

Again, the council is not a governing body. They are a representative and coordinating body. They did not start this thread in order issue a pronouncement; they started it to begin discussion within the community. Unfortunately, you've buried that.

chemist is a super moderator, which means he has moderator rights in all t.m.o forums, not just a select few. He was not appointed by the council. Instead, Reggie, as the sole admin of t.m.o, is the only one who can make someone moderator or super moderator.

Re: [Council] Council_Update-July_2011

@misterc, by "company" I meant Nokia - a corporation that doesnt care a damn about its customers...

@moderators, i agree most discussions border on troll discussions... but do you know why??? It is because the council is useless in providing direction or clarity to the people... In my honest opinion, the current council is useless in providing direction to the wider community, and therefore not competent enough to be such in the first place.... 2 years and the community couldnt even bargain sh@t from Nokia..... we dont even know what progress was made apart from gaining moderator rights to ban people for speaking the truth....

Please provide direction! and Deliver results!!! We stop being trolls and will follow you...

Thank god we got pali doing something for everyone as you can see on his thread.

Look at particular his opening post and the number of thanks he got as it shows just how much we all want Maemo.

Here's one of the bedtime stories I read my son last night:

Quote:

Once upon a time there was an ignorant little troll named abill_uk. One night, while he was busy annoying tmo, an EMP disabled all the electronics in his cave. He was never heard from again, and everyone lived happily ever after.

The End
