Yeah there is a workaround for this. Make all the wallpapers same and set parellelax as 0 in the transisions.ini settings

Theres a version available to download on the first page of this thread but the newest version (with vertical scrolling etc) hasnt been publicly released yet.

I am really very sorry Alfred, for not reading trough 36 pages of comments for such a simple question. And I am even more sorry for being a bit reluctant of installing packages which aren't available trough the Maemo repo's..If you don't have a useful answer than just don't say anything...

Thanks droitwichgas for giving me a useful answer. I am looking forward to getting this on my N900. :)

Actually you should also be reluctant of installing software from the repos. Especially from devel and unknown repositories.

Ive been testing k48 since it was released, updating to all newest versions as released (including the lastest publicly unreleased one).

Have not had one problem.

cn anyone tell me what repository to find hildon desktop. cant find it on ma fone, i got one from dis site but wen i tried to install, it says incompatible application package. pls help!!!!

i also installed cssu, it updated nd the menu is switching to potrait mode, i typed hildon in the appliction mnager but only qt example hildon desktop widget showz up. its is 64kb

Hence why it will not appear in the app manager, trust me if you have portait mode the deb file has installed.

It doesn't appear in the application manager cause it's outside user/ (as it should be - users don't need to be uninstalling sysetm packages).

arcean, thanks for the merge request, the new version should be in the next CSSU version (which should be soon).

First of all thanks very much for this. I love it. But I have a problem. I do not have cssu but I installed the deb file in the first post. It is rotating but when it is in portrait mode and press the status area it does not work. Even in settings it goes back to landscape and every other app. What did I do wrong please?

Arcean, I am available for testing and bug reporting as well. Could you please pm me with the latest deb, I use the phone alot so I can test most of the apps for the blacklist and general bugs in hildon home and desktop.

I've just installed it, its really very awesome!
Only the livewallpaper isnt really happy with portrait mode :P Is it an idea to keep the livewallpaper in the same orientation, or to change its resolution to 800x800?

hmmm.... i see it would be implemented to choose portrait an landsape wallpaper separately, so this is my question for devs: could you make a option to NOT rotate background? this way, i think there would be no problems with live wallpaper, and option to choose different ones. So it could be only enhancement (or option, call it as you want). what do you think?

I'm not really into the idea of vertical scrolling.
I mean, horizontal scrolling is just great and more common, and I no longer see any black rectangles between wallpapers, so...

install the CSSU is one of the solutions, the most complete. But you can do:

1 - The problem is solved for the status menu by installing this "Hildon-Status-menu" without installing CSSU

2 - For the portrait of settings etc.. etc. ..... add the text quoted at the end transitions.ini your theme.

i don't mean to complain, it's one of the most astonishing apps to date, the portrait thingy has solved everything lacking from the N900... But... i had apps like fastsms, without the evo, since i can't get it anywhere... i installed it through forum, and it said i some apps were missing, even though i had fastsms already, but anyways, apps like the storage and the fastsms don't rotate, same case with other apps... but all in all, it's wonderful to see my N900 on par with the best out there... thank you people, everyone for this, you guys are the best... ever, thank you for everything, much much appreciated, each and everyone of you talkiong and discussing and then the creators actually workign to make it better is amazing... kudos

I installed .deb file using CleaN900 and it seems to work perfectly
...Keep up the good work..it's people like yourself that are keeping the fantastic N900 alive :):):):)
