the past is of very limited use when it comes to predictions, but...
what have you done lately for Maemo?

EDIT: wishing is nil,
hoping is little,
knowing is important and
doing is king.

Have you seen the amount of thanks that pali got on the opening of that thread? just goes to show the importance of Maemo in the public eyes !.

wonder whether this is a critical mass to go on developing an independent Maemo Fremantle

well, reactions to my last two posts, if any, will show that, i guess...

Heh.. if I'm a troll, you are too. Let's not throw labels around carelessly and with such irony. I trust you can be better than that.

The past is what leads up to the present, and the present is the intersection into tomorrow. True, the road so far doesn't always predict the one ahead but it usually helps to know where you've been before you can know which direction you're traveling toward. The direction for Maemo, so far, doesn't appear to be an ever-improving one without proper hardware support and without any new hardware to port it onto--mainly that's Nokia's fault. MeeGo appears to be the one with all the trending toward porting all over the place onto lots of hardware. It's just the facts as I see them right now. What are you thinking?

Sorry, I didn't mean to address that reply so ambiguously. I'm not one to throw around the "troll" label as liberally as some people. :) I'm probably one of the few that prefers the participation of dissenting opinion, whether I agree with them or not.

I did, but I wasn't convinced by them.

I just love the friendly banter ;) the way to go but u can assure you misterc has the same views as me almost in that to not only save but to take Maemo on to new ground development wise.

then maybe we should simply agree to disagree
agreed? ;)

i'm not going to try to convince you that we will make Maemo Fremantle (under whatever name) the next buntu phenomenon if the only thing the ppl are interested in is being able to keep using and possible re-flashing once in a while their N900s.

i think we need to figure that out before getting into concrete actions

thank you :)
it is indeed so much nicer to just talk about things, even when we don't agree.
or maybe especially when we don't agree, as it is an opportunity to discover another point of view and possibly important aspects of the matter @ hand
