i installed the angrybirds lockscreen. my lockscreen lags at first then after 1 or 2 sec i can move the bird. at the very first sec when i swipe the bird doesnot move but the phone unlocks after few sec. how can i make it smooth. it is perfectly smooth when no qtlockscreen is installed. bdw i only want it in landscape and the time is opp. at 12 noon it shows 00.00

The lags and slow rotation are known issues for Qtlockscreen. See wiki.

This is also the reason why the screen unlocks before the images load.

To keep it in landscape only, edit the zifisbirds.ini and change Orientation="landscape"

The clock problem may be due to the region change that you did. But that's just a guess...

hey guys, please I need to try some of these qtlockscreens but some of them are in the .ini form and some are in the .rar form. Considering that I am a newb in such things : how can I use these .ini and .rar and set them as my qtlockscreen?

first unrar it. copy the .ini file in home/opt/qtlockscreen and the rest in that respective folder name in home/opt/qtlockscreen.
provided that you have qtlockscreen and qtlockscreenconfig installed.
you shud be good to go

Edit: I am trying zifisbirds lockscreen

What i do is:

Unrar on pc.

Put the files on N900 (my docs for example).

With filebox copy the files and paste on home/opt/qtlockscreen (except fonts).

If have special fonts i copy on /usr/share/fonts (with filebox too).

Then i use qtlockscreenconfig to load theme.

And finally go to xterm and wirte killall qtlockscreen and press enter.

That's all.

By the way, the only thing "bad" on zifisbirds lockscreen, if you change the time format to pm, it doesn't fit.

But i can live with the time like that.

can someone edit the " nPod_Revamped " lockscreen to show the signal of the network on the left top of it ?! and with the "2 G , 3 G icons " , or you can just post the icons and the words that i should put in the ( ini ) file :)

Hey Bro Please Make a animated STAR TREK Lockscreen. ia there any possibility to add some time duration after press unlock but before unlock to complete the animation. like if there is 1 button to press 1 or 2 time to unlock (not Sliding) after that a nice animation play (like we open any app. and a round wheel animate on top in N900 before the app fully loaded or 5 dots before Power on or video play) ?? i think most people like it.

1 more request please make "Harmattan Concept" lockscreen with Landscape with original Wallpaper. and animated POTC lockscreen with that scene in which Jack shoot the barrels during Fight with kraken in POTC 2.

I could consider making a Star trek lockscreen but most of the things you say are not even supported by Qtlockscreen (animation on tap, countdown to unlock, transitions)

Also bare in mind that increasing the animations increases file size and therefore makes the lockscreen laggy and unresponsive. That's not something you want when trying to unlock your phone ;)

There are two reasons why I will not make landscape harmattan lockscreens:

1. It defeats the purpose as it is supposed to imitate the real harmattan lockscreen which is in portrait mode.

2. there are no original N9/harmattan landscape wallpapers

As for the POTC lockscreen... dude it's not a media player! :p Animation is supported for the background only. And again huge cinematic animations result to huge lags

Dude, it just perfect.

I like a lot the animated ghost "feet" move and "Ready!" blinks, and pacman an ghost "shadow" like in the picture i post.

Just throwing an idea out here... I feel like this wallpaper could make for a really cool touch-to-unlock lockscreen. I don't really have that much time to work on stuff, so this could just be an idea for someone.

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me; I've just got an N900 from a friend having drowned my previous handset a week or two ago. I've had no problems with it at all until I started trying to configure QtLockscreen. I'm not exactly new to Linux, but I'm not particularly experienced either.

This thread has provided me with the wallpaper I want to use [1] and I like the layout of the default QtLockscreen and maenotify combined so I don't require any other changes to it.

I've tried both editing the .ini and copying/renaming the wallpaper to the default folder (using mv), but neither have worked, so I'm stuck with the wrong wallpaper right now.

So, I'm wondering if anyone would be willing/able to help me get this wallpaper onto my lockscreen?

If you have doublechecked that you got everything right (filenames, folders, .ini etc) you may need to downsize the image.

The right resolution is 800X480 and a preferably a .png file type

So my plan is, since all I want to change about the default qtlockscreen config is the wallpaper, to mv the wallpaper to the location specified in the .ini, replacing the default one.

Tried this again just now, with a png file at the correct size, and this is what happened:

mv: overwrite '/opt/qtlockscreen/default/backgroundL.png'? yes

mv: cannot remove '/opt/qtlockscreen/default/backgroundL.png': Permission denied

I assume this is related to my not doing it as root, but frankly, I'm not sure I know what I'm doing well enough to play about as root :confused:

This is an example:

Original .ini (the default one):

BackGroundImageL="/etc/hildon/theme/backgrounds/lockslider.png"

You have to change it like this:

BackGroundImageL="/home/user/MyDocs/.images/loverainbow.png"

Hi Tajasel may I sugest you to use Filebox its easy to anyone to use, another thing that I think it worth to mention is after check your .ini file and pictures are on the right place dont forget to refresh qtlockscreen or killall qtlocklcreen tasks.

I just went through the wiki and saw that Sakya advices not to mess with the default configuration! He wants to keep the default lockscreen functioning right if all else fails probably.

So what I would do is copy the default folder and .ini and rename them to, say, mylockscreen.

Paste them in /opt/qtlockscreen

edit the .ini and replace all "default" to "mylockscreen" in the paths

then change the background image to the one you like

that should do it ;)

tajasel make sure you have rootsh or sudusers installed if so,after open terminal and type sudo gainroot and then execute the command you want, but once again a think worth to mention its much easier to work with Filebox it's a file manager which gives you root assess.:cool:

Tap anywhere to initiate warp speed (well.. unlock)
Landscape only
Minor animations. Ship lights blink and cursor under startime
No operator name and media buttons. They did not fit the concept
The font is not unicode, works only with English.
