well at first i was in favour of a GUI but after editing the .ini file , i felt it will take much to make a GUI as there are alot of buttons to be placed .
you know every widget has much to change .
what i have thought to be a solution for the noobs is a "video" which contains the necessary parts and will cover the unimportant parts with it .
making a video which shows how to change backgrounds , icons , colors or rectangles and removing them as well and adding a new wiget .

Didn't know I could be creative, but I got inspired by all those nice lockies.

So, I created a customMod from Marina and meego.de lockscreens and inspired by Nexus Revamped I created two wallpapers, too.
So, thx fly out to IbizaPete from meego.de and Harick

As you can see, no place for mediaplayer ;)

Short instructions:
1. copy font to /opt/usr/share/fonts/
then in terminal type

Code:

fc-cache -f -v

so the fonts got re-cached and you shouldn't need to restart.
2. use filebox and under /home/user/ create a folder called qtlockscreen
3. copy whole folder marinamod to /home/user/qtlockscreen/
4. copy QtLockscreen.ini to /home/user/.config/sakya/
5. In xterm type:

Here's the WIP screenshot based on Harick's work, portrait not 100% done yet. Still need smaller red icons with drop shadow for calls, sms, email and im to be placed in a column farthest right.

thanx to kontirio and qw3rty for the overlay thing, now it looks like i wanted :p amazing how can a simple overlay change the whole lockscreen to something more beautiful

oh, and i've changed notification icons for ones more understables, and added IM notif too :D

Check my WIP image, you see that the overlay can be set over the albumart. It just depends in what order you load something in the widget list, make sure you load the album art first, and the overlay after it, i.e. widget 10 for album art and widget 11 or higher for overlay.

@Harick Widgets are loaded in order, so if you put the Album Art before the overlay in the .ini file it should work. It's how in the default one you get track time on top of the cover. So all you gave to do is change the order the widgets are loaded.

Hello.
This is my minimalistic lockscreen.
I usually like to make it simple.
This is a portrait only since the rotation mostly just mess things up and it takes a couple seconds more before you can unlock you phone.
Press and hold is also very tight, only 300ms + sometimes the 2s of QT refresh.

And the locker is just resized to 128x128 found the page. Could be better but Im not an expert in photoshop ;)

Here is another WIP, Black Crystal I've called. I freaking love black-green color combinations, and these actually look great on the N900's screen :)
As usual it is in portrait mode only, yet.

What do you see at the bottom-right is a battery indicator, after I worked hard on the animated charging effect:

Ex: i just want to display the number of notifications instead of "x missed calls..etc"

Have to give the biggest thanks to eefo!. You are top draw, spent lots of time with me sorting info out which helps when being new to linux means info need to be passed in laymons terms.:D:D:D All I need now is to learn how to change up the screen fonts bigger and add/remove stuff:rolleyes:

Will post the rest of my desktops in the desktops thread... check them out and feed back how ever good or bad will be grateful.

The glow ranges from green to red according to the battery reading, and changes to blue when charging.

Yeah, I know but a reboot is necessary to install the font if you're gonna copy it to /usr/share/fonts/

OH and it seems that there's a limit to the number of killalls you can do to qtlockscreen, after you exceed that limit, qtlockscreen stops restarting and the ordinary hildon lockscreen comes up.

That is where i stored my screenshots too. Maybe try twitpic(I dunno, does it depend on tweeter in any possible way?)
