Seriously thought, instead of supporting Nokia (do You really think they deserve that now?...) by whining about N950/N9/whatever, just go and register for CordiaTAB. I'm 100% sure that it will be better than any Nokia product in years, and for 100% support is gonna be much longer... ;)

Silly thread indeed. You sound like a brainwashed Apple fanboy type Nokian. I for one will not be buying a nokia phone after n900, just keep n900 for as long as i can. I never ever bothered developing otherwise sole reason to buy it was to start developing on nokia ovi platform. Scandinavian style of business, i dont know but i wont be putting my efforts towards Nokia. They have betrayed their engineers, who put in tremendous amount of work towards Maemo/Harmattan and disappointed longgg time customers like me. A half baked Maemo still is miles ahead of competition in many ways. They never gave it completion or tried to make it better. It was this community that has though, which nokia should be indebted indeed. If anything, people should show they are in control rather than 10 execs at the top.

Y'know, I'm actually wondering: Would it be possible to take the specs you want(I'm assuming something like 4", 1024x600 TFT, Tegra2 proc, etc) to some Chinese vendor, and ask them to build you something? I'd bet someone could get you what you wanted for less than $5k. Easily. I mean, they already have any physical format you want; they can steal it from any phone on the market. Same with components; the only real new part would be a new inside board and potentially a couple holes for ports. Then, you could probably get some OSS dev to port Ubuntu/Meego to it(using the Meego graphics drivers, Hildon for a desktop) if you gave the guy a device.
It might not be quite the same, but I bet it'd be better. If I had a few grand handy, I'd be thinking along the same lines... and if you found others, I'm betting you could get the price down quickly.
