Release of Cleven 2.4-8 in extras-devel

Some of the requests given here and update for the latest reaver developments.

Changelog:

• CHANGE: Support for the latest wash (> r100) output file readout.
• NEW: Added reaver option "--dh-small"; seems to help not overloading/crashing some AP too fast.
• CHANGE: Removed reaver option "--essid"; avoid problem with special characters in the name.
• CHANGE: Replaced reaver option "-vv" with the less verbose "-v".
• CHANGE: Redone keys window; new logic:
  - Added "Delete" and "Copy" buttons, i.e. file remove and copy to clipboard.
  - Removed "Read Keys" button; action is triggered automatically.
• NEW: Removed menu items; the About is accessible from the main window through a new button.
• CHANGE: Modification of labels in the main window.
• CHANGE: Modification of the About window text; added few words on reaver.
• NEW: Added option and rules for the deletion of the "replay_arp" leftover files.

** INSTRUCTIONS for new features:

• Add reaver, reaven.db and wash binaries in /home/user/.reaver/ and re-start Cleven for the links to be created.
• This version of Cleven was designed to work with versions up to release r100 of reaver and wash.

Note: I think latest wash versions (r100 to r107) seem to have a bug, so it will not give any output in cleven's WPS list. Have filled a bug for that. You'll need to depend on the WPA list till it is fixed.

Glad you actually visit it from time to time :D The post is quite old, I have to update it with the reaver/wash innovations :o (my exam session finally ended lol).

I used wash/reaven r100 2days ago on their own (from the other thread) and they both worked flawlessly. Not sure which bug you are referring to.

Anyhows, keep up the great work. If you need any help with anything don't hesitate to p.m/email me or whatever ;)

This one and it has been fixed now in r108.

Most probably, you used wash in active mode, in the application I need to read the cap file produced during the scan, i.e. option -f, and that didn't work.

Great bit of software, easy to understand...but shame no dictionary packaged with it.

Finding something suitable for a small device isnt easy. I can find 33GB of dictionary...but thats a little vast lol

WPA dictionary attack isn't priority of Cleven, AFAIK. Thankfully ;) So, you need to use your own dictionaries, if You want to waste Your time trying anyway. for testing, if dictionary attack works on *Your* router (not neighbors one), you can easily prepare Your own, small dictionary.

Saturn, sorry if ti was answered before (and If I recall correctly it *was* indeed), but can't find it in Cleven Wiki / by searching this thread. Where Cleven/Reaver, in it's kindness, save "cracked" WPS PIN? I tried /home/user/.reaver directory (where actually tried pins and reaver.db is saved), to no avail.

BTW, people that succeed in cracking WPS PIN - achieving that on >90% isn't "bad luck". After finding first half of PIN, progress is immediately adjusted to 90.9%, indicating, that at most, only 1000 keys are left to check.

About the saving, see this: http://code.google.com/p/reaver-wps/.../detail?id=164

- most probably when it will included in the db, I will add a readout button.
- for the time being you need to check the session file.

For the -vv edit the /opt/cleven/clevenHelper.sh file as root. Last versions produce way too much output which makes it difficult to see the keys tried.

Hi to all.I have one question about reaver.This is wpsInfo.txt from my router:

Does mean that locked wps permanently,because when i in my router,nowhere(most in wireless settings) i cant find that option WPS or QSS.I am witn kp46wl1 and reaver&walsh 1.4(88).My router is TP-LINK MODEL:TL-WR340GD

ok. so i seeked help from wherever i could.made youtube and google my best friends. i downloaded two dictionaries and put it inside home/user/.cleven/dictionaries. then i opened cleven. loaded drivers, enabled monitor mode and set mac address. searched for networks and found my home wifif which is wpa and the password is - 2030405060. (not very difficult to crack right)
>> selected capture>> xterminal window appeared. beecons was collecting but no data was collecting. leaving the xterminal window with beecons collecting i opened cleven and went back to decrypt. selcted the dictionary and the cap file. then>> decrypt. another xterminal window appeared only for 1 sec and closed automatically. where am i going wrong??. i collected almost 1500 beecons. there was no handshake on the top right. i tried. tookhelp from google. the rest is up2 you guys.please help

If you are cracking WEP - you are doing everything wrong.
If you are cracking WPA - you are doing almost everything wrong.

Back to google/youtube and understand how both attacks work. This isn't a guide thread after all.

oh yes. i kno. i could crack wep with cleven. and without cleven(i.e no gui) you dont need a dict for wep. you have to collect a minimum data of 20000. i kno about wep. i just need to kno wpa and how to use the dictionary. what to do? thats it. its okay. i will again try google. i did it for the past two days. dint quite get them. nyz sorry. plz dont be mad.

finally got the handshake but the dictionary couldnt crack the code. :( trying with a different dict. it keeps on searching.. will it keep searching forever???

Well would love to say great app only just installed how i missed it i will never know , althou done more of my stuff using xterminal but this just makes life so easy .....

As for all the noobs out there perhaps if you did research before posting daft questions people may help you every thing you want to know about WEP ,WPA and blah blah blah google does have answers ....

Hey,

Upon unloading the injection drivers, my MAC address for wlan is not going back to default. I can keep pressing the unload/load driver butoon and all it does is randomise another MAC.

Closing Cleven doesn't set the MAC back either.

Restarting does work. Setting manually before closing works.

Where is the default MAC kept? how is cleven recording this?

I'm running KP49.

hello again. i have a question. how to connect to those wifi network(WEP) where no password is needed. its not free rather the phones or laptops mac address is used to access the network. the wifi is not protected with any password but it doesnot also connect. this setup is in my office. i gave my mac address to the incharge and then i could connect it. is der anyway to use these networks without giving the mac address. i wanted to test it if possible. jst asking out of curiosity.

You can change your macadress to an allowed macaddress.
Here at home I have 10 allowed macadresses(including) setted in my router.Still I am vulnerable to be misused as my N900 is always connected if I am at home

If you are connected to the router you are a client. With airodump-ng you could see clients macadress connected to that router. So this setup is still vulnerable as macadress can be read from a client, read that mac adn spoof macadress on another device and you can connect.

how to do that in cleven or in terminal. like what commands should i type to see which mac addresses are connected. for that dont i hav to connect to that network? what if i am a total new user and my mac address is not set in the router? then what to do? how can i use that wifi network then?

This is not Cleven-related issue. Please, consult aircrack-ng webpage/forums, on how to use airodump-ng to get proper MAC addresses. Not to mention, that mr_pingu already answered You.

a little help woudnt bother anyone right. may be its not about cleven but its about cracking a wifi ( which cleven does) so in an indirect way it is related. i searched for network. and i get the network with the sign unlocked ( i.e no password needed). i am not connected to the router so how can i see the accepted mac addresses. you expert can just tell me that. i am just eager to kno. nothing else. i am a well educated business man. obviously my intention is not hacking. just want to test. since i am a newbie in linux OS. i just thought i could get help from here.

Oh my god... Cannot reproduce 2sec per pin no matter which binary i try :( on the good side all binaries give me 3sec per pin so it should be still 6h on average, but dammit. I am 1000% sure i got that 2sec per pin, was sober, no drugs, in a 'hey lets test this latest exploit' mood, so definitely can be done (reducing crack time by 50%) what the fricking f.......

Hello, the dictionary list is empty even after i download list or even after creating a list followed by instructions on this thread. the files saved on the right folder and still, i can't get dictionaries to select on the selection screen.
I'm trying to find a solution for populating this list but nothing worked.
Can someone tell me how to solve this?

dictionary is just a txt file. google : dictionary for cracking wpa. u can download. or you can use youtube to get the links. jst put it in the appropriate folder i.e home/user.cleven/dictionaries. then you are good to go. hope that helps

The best/faster is to reset the router. You will get the default password and from there you can set it to your liking.

Also, if possible configure it to use a WPA at least.

I've experimenting with more than one version and the same problem
Works for up to two minutes and then disappears
Must work to Restart Driver to work in terms of the stop (wait to be part of for more than ten hours)

my friends ipad is connected to a wifi network in his office. his office use the mac address of the devices to register devices to their wifi network. i wanted to hack the wifi network (obv with his permission). its secured with wep and i got the key after collecting 25000IVs. but it doesnot connect with that key. it says network error. then i changed the mac address with his ipad's mac address with cleven ( without loading injecting drivers and monitor mode. just the mac address) . it does connect with the wifi but cannot browse. what to do? can anyone help me?. i also know the ip of the router. how can i use the wifi network?

Hi,

Sorry that cannot be much of help here. I've just took the already compiled from lxp's site and included them with the deb. Nothing special - I didn't need to make any patches.

(It is not the best strategy for long term, but it was the simplest at the time and fortunately you didn't change anything related till now in KP and it worked.)
